Think of a scent that takes you straight back to a place: a hotel you stayed in, a relative's home, a shop you visited years ago. Often the memory arrives before you've even placed where it's from.

That's because scent is closely linked to the parts of the brain that handle memory and emotion.

Sight and sound are processed and considered first, but scent tends to reach us more directly. It's why a fragrance can shape how a space feels long before anyone consciously notices it.

This is where a custom scent makes a difference.

A generic fragrance might make a space smell pleasant, but a signature scent created for your brand becomes part of your identity.

Over time, customers begin to associate that fragrance with the experience you've given them, and every return visit strengthens that connection.
It's a quiet kind of brand recognition, and it's one that stays with people after they've left.

Our bespoke fragrances are perfume-grade, produced in a perfumery and developed around your space, your customers and the feeling you want them to remember.

Scenting International began quietly, with businesses asking for help.

Hotels, office lobbies and venues had put care into how their spaces looked, but not always into how they felt. We started creating signature scents for them, and word slowly spread.

Since 2013, our scent marketing work has grown from Melbourne to clients across South East Asia and the Middle East.

We're still Australian-owned and still focused on the same thing: a considered fragrance that makes a space feel welcoming the moment someone walks in.

Vanilla is one of the most familiar and comforting notes in fragrance.

It adds softness and warmth to a blend, so it works beautifully in hospitality venues, restaurants, hotel lounges and anywhere you want guests to settle in and stay a while.
Rather than announcing itself, vanilla sits quietly in the background and lets a space feel inviting.

As a base note, it lingers gently long after the lighter notes have lifted.

That lasting quality is often what people remember about a space, even when they can't quite say why.

Essential oils come up often in conversations about scenting a space, so we'd like to explain what's actually in our diffusers.

Our fragrances are perfume-grade oils, produced in a perfumery.

Each one begins with individual fragrance materials that carry a specific note, whether that's something bright like citrus, something calming like lavender, or something warm like vanilla.

Those notes are then blended in layers. Top notes create the first impression, heart notes give the fragrance its character, and base notes provide the depth that lingers. Getting that balance right takes time, with careful measuring, testing and refining along the way.

Every fragrance is made to IFRA (International Fragrance Association) standards and designed to perform consistently in commercial scent diffusers.

That means the scent stays true from the first hour of the day to the last.

It's a fair question to ask when navigating a custom space scent, and one we hear often.

A well-scented space should never feel heavy or artificial.

The aim is a fragrance that welcomes people as they walk in and then becomes part of the atmosphere.
Getting that balance right starts with the space itself.

We look at room size, ceiling height, airflow and how many people move through each day, because all of these affect how a fragrance travels. A small treatment room and a busy hotel lobby need very different approaches.

Our commercial diffusers are fully programmable, so the output can be adjusted until it feels right.

And because our fragrances are perfume-grade and produced in a perfumery, they stay smooth and refined rather than sharp or synthetic.

In a wellness space, scent plays a quiet but important role.

For studios, spas and treatment rooms, we usually start with soft, gentle notes.

Lavender brings a familiar sense of calm, light florals add softness, and delicate woods give a quiet sense of depth. A touch of fresh herbal can keep things feeling clean without becoming sharp.

We tend to avoid anything heavy, overly sweet or strongly spiced.

In a space designed for rest, the fragrance should support the atmosphere rather than compete with it. A lighter touch almost always works best, so clients notice they feel settled rather than noticing the scent itself.

Every wellness space is different, so we tailor each recommendation to your treatments, your clients and the feeling you want them to leave with.

Every bespoke fragrance we create starts with questions rather than a bottle.

We look at who uses your space, how they move through it and the feeling you want them to leave with. From there, we shortlist from our fragrance library and refine the blend until it suits your brand.

The result is a signature scent that's considered, consistent and entirely your own.

Ginger brings a gentle warmth and brightness to a fragrance.

It's a spiced note that feels lively without being heavy, so it suits gyms, hotel lobbies and busy commercial spaces that need a little energy.

It gives the first impression of a space some warmth and a sense of movement.

On its own, ginger can be bold. That's why the balance matters.

Paired with softer notes such as citrus or woods, it adds character to a scent without taking over.

Each blend is adjusted and tested, a few drops at a time, until it feels right for the space it's made for.

A few things guide every space we scent.

Our fragrances are perfume-grade and produced in a perfumery to IFRA standards.

We give honest advice about what your space needs, nothing more.

After your scent diffusers are installed, we check in to make sure the fragrance still suits your space and the people in it. And if a diffuser needs attention after its warranty ends, we still look after you.

Good commercial scenting takes time and care, and it works best as a long-term partnership.

Long before we bottle a scent, we start with the real thing.

Fresh narcissus, still holding its natural fragrance. Our job is to capture that feeling and translate it into something that lasts.
