'Project X' is a (2012) comedy film directed by Nima Nourizadeh in his feature film debut, written by Michael Bacall and Matt Drake based on a story by Bacall, and produced by The Hangover director Todd Phillips. The plot follows Thomas (Thomas Mann), Costa (Oliver Cooper) and J.B. (Jonathan Daniel Brown), three friends who plan to gain popularity by throwing a party, a plan which quickly escalates out of their control.

The title Project X was initially a placeholder for a final title, but interest generated by the secretive title resulted in it being kept. The film was cast through a nationwide open casting call to find people who never acted before or who had limited acting experience. The majority of the cast were sourced from this casting call, but a few with prior acting credits, such as Mann, were accepted after multiple auditions. Filming took place on sets entirely in Los Angeles, California over five weeks on a $12 million budget. The film is presented as a home video from the perspective of an attendee using a camera to document the night's events.

Project X was released in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom on March 2, 2012.

'Chronicle' is a (2012) science fiction film directed by Josh Trank and written by Max Landis based on a story by both Trank and Landis. The film stars Dane DeHaan, Michael B. Jordan, and Alex Russell.

The plot follows three Seattle high-school seniors Andrew (DeHaan), his cousin Matt (Russell) and their fellow high school student Steve (Jordan), as they form a close bond after receiving telekinetic abilities from an unknown object. The group uses its abilities for mischief and personal gain until Andrew begins to use them for darker purposes.

The film is visually presented as found footage filmed from the perspective of various video recording devices, primarily from a hand-held camcorder used by Andrew to document the events in his life.

Chronicle was released in the United Kingdom and Ireland on February 1, 2012 and in the United States on February 3, 2012. The film received positive reviews from critics and became a box office success.

'Rowdy Rathore' is a (2012) Bollywood action thriller film directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala. The film features Akshay Kumar in double roles opposite Sonakshi Sinha. It is a remake of the Ravi Teja starrer Telugu film Vikramarkudu. It marks the return of Akshay Kumar in the action genre after 7 years.
The film released on 1st June 2012, and received generally positive response from critics, whilst opening to extremely strong box office collections.

'Safe House' is a (2012) action thriller film directed by Daniel Espinosa, starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. It was released on February 10, 2012 in North America by Universal Pictures. Filming took place in Cape Town, South Africa.

Plot :: Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington), an ex-CIA agent turned international criminal, acquires a file from renegade MI6 agent Alec Wade (Liam Cunningham). Attacked by the mercenary Vargas (Fares Fares), he enters an American consulate and is moved to a CIA safe house in Cape Town, South Africa.

'John Carter' is a 2012 American science fiction action film that tells the first interplanetary adventure of John Carter, the heroic protagonist of Edgar Rice Burroughs' 11-volume Barsoom series of novels (1912–43). The film marks the centennial of the character's first appearance.

The film is the live-action debut of director/writer Andrew Stanton; his previous work includes the Pixar animated films Finding Nemo (2003) and WALL-E (2008). Co-written by Mark Andrews and Michael Chabon, it is produced by Jim Morris, Colin Wilson, and Lindsey Collins, and scored by Michael Giacchino.

Walt Disney Pictures distributed the film and released it in the United States on March 9, 2012; the film was shown in regular 2D and in the Digital 3D and IMAX 3D formats. Filming began in November 2009 with principal photography underway in January 2010, wrapping seven months later in July 2010.

Upon release, John Carter received a mixed critical reception and performed average at the domestic box office, although it did show strength overseas, particularly in Russia where it set box office records.
The budget of the film is $250 million and it grossed $272,326,762. Overall a profitable venture.
