Their joy isn’t just for show; Its lived.
Maasai women carry their stories in every song and every dance.

With every clap and voice raised together, they celebrate life, family and the strength that holds them together.

It’s more than just music and movement . It’s a tradition full of joy and unity, passed down through generations.

Happy International Women’s Day!

Today we celebrate the women who are quietly and boldly shaping a better future for people and the planet. Women have always been powerful catalysts for change, using their voices, knowledge, and compassion to uplift communities and protect the natural world. Their dedication, courage, and resilience inspire us deeply.

Through our NGO, .foundation , we look forward to sharing more of these remarkable stories and shining a light on the important work these women are doing.

While on assignment with A&K Sanctuary we visited the Bwindi Women Bicycle Project, a women-led initiative based near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

The project centres around bicycles as tools for independence and income. Women lead guided bike tours through the community, learn bicycle mechanics, and use these skills to support their families. It was inspiring to see how something as simple as a bicycle can create opportunity, confidence and freedom of movement.

Spending time with these women reminded us how powerful women-focused projects can be when they are rooted in real needs and local leadership.

Meet Ronja, a field officer with the Endangered Wildlife Trust in the Greater Kruger. Every day she tracks wild dog packs, treats injuries, and jumps into emergencies because with only around 650 wild dogs left in South Africa, every action counts. Her work is hands-on, unpredictable, and deeply impactful, keeping packs alive and communities connected.

She also works with farmers and local communities to reduce conflict and build practical solutions for coexistence. Quiet, steady, and dedicated, Ronja shows how one person can make a real difference for wildlife and people alike.

Watch the full film and read the full story on our website to see Ronja’s work in action.

With Teacher’s Day having passed yesterday, we take a moment to celebrate the educators who guide and inspire young minds each day.

Whether it is teaching science and maths in a classroom, sharing lessons on conservation in the wild, or showing how music can build confidence, every teacher helps to shape a brighter future for their learners.

Their dedication reminds us how powerful knowledge and care can be in helping each child grow.

There is something truly beautiful about watching Maasai women gather under the open sky, beads in hand, their singing filling the air as they work.

During our assignment with we had the privilege of witnessing this moment as women sat together, shared stories and turned centuries-old tradition into opportunity. Every necklace and bracelet represents commitment, creativity and the determination to build something better for their families.

Through partnerships that connect their work to wider markets these women are not just earning an income, they are seizing opportunities and shaping a stronger future for their entire community.

While on assignment in Uganda, we crossed paths with the women behind the Bwindi Women Bicycle Project, a small village bike shop with a mission. Located just outside the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, this grassroots initiative is run by local women who have been trained in everything from bicycle assembly to repairs and rentals.

But it’s much more than just a bike shop. It’s a space where women gain skills, earn an income, and find strength in community. They organise cycling events to promote wellbeing and raise funds for vulnerable children. In a place where opportunities are limited, these women are creating their own – one bike, one repair, one ride at a time.

Their story is a beautiful reminder that when women are given the tools to thrive, they don’t just lift themselves; they uplift the community around them.
