Memories of Mama Gnome - was my very first miniaturenof and I enjoyed every second I was working on it.

Thanks to the support of my painting buddies I was developing the background and was getting more and more happy with the final result.

So happy to say I got my first medal . I got silver in standard storytelling.
It was a fun event, with a lot of amazing people, paintingbuddies to connect with. I will go home with lot of new impressions, ideas and friends.

Today I have been to and met some friends I have never seen before in real life, met old friends and also the buddys from . Having a very quick chat with and and many many more.
Had a wonderful day, but at the same time I am happy to be back home now and have a resting evening.

Still life - something I had never tried before.

This was my entry for the 3rd quarter competition organised by Roman Lappat - Miniature Art . . The competition required the use of a mirror (whether painted, mirror foil or similar).
I took the opportunity to depict Snow White 2.0. The idea behind it is that the apple is shown as a whole in the mirror and only the viewer sees the bitten piece.
Also as a metaphor for self-portrayal in social media in contrast to real life.

.miniaturas had been to Hamburg and offered a nmm-workshop.
It was my first workshop ever and really enjoyed it.
First day we started by sketching nmm, the afternoon was busy with blending. Luckily I wasn’t the only one struggling with this step. Still my brain doesn’t see the nmm, unless you take a picture and then it suddenly makes click. But this was also something Juan was telling us: NMM is a technique for pictures/videos.

On the second day we did a lot of glazing to create the OSL effect. I really liked this approach and the explanation we got with it.
Afterwards asding highlights into all the other areas (Leather, Cape, blue‘ish leathery Armour).
And suddenly it was done.

These two days were full of frustration, excitement of the clicking moment, new friendships, fun and a lot of group brushlicking.

Looking forward to try to replicate the technique in one of my upcoming projects.

While booking the workshop I was afraid the level in „Masterclass“ would be way to high for me. It was easy to follow and to understand the approaches of Juan.
In my opinion it should have been called „road to mastery“. Since we also had one student in the group who had never painted a miniature before (only aquarelle paintings) and she was doing really good.

Thanks to .miniaturas to be a really patient teacher who is taking the time for individual feedback inbetween sessions and to for organizing this event.

Lately I have been working on the musketeers from . They were a fun experiment to focus more on creating an atmosphere, rather than focusing on anything else. Nevertheless I still believe that this paintstile is working very well for this miniture.

Recently I finished this little Blitz Bowl Team in two quick painting sessions. This team got called ‚Slanchester United’ and are going to be played in a local tournament.

This paintjob awakend many good memories of my Lizardmen army that I played as a teenager.

The Art of Hunting is how I have called this work. This was my project I have wanted to be done before . And I was so happy with the endresult, even though during the progress I wanted to quit it. For example did the resin pour of the water didn’t worked out at the first attempt.
Glad I haven’t given up to show you my interpretation of this miniature in their well known deep forest.

I have experimented with a lot of blue and green shades for the surroundings and background, to achieve a misty forest appearance. This way the miniature could stay more in focus of the observer, while it still gets incorporated into the background with their similarity of the green shades.
The mossflocking and plants was also a new way of approaching the deepforest appearance - in my point of view it works out very well.

Another older work I am showing at kontrast is this Soul Warrior.
Back then it was pushing my limits by just using Monument Hobbies Transparent Paint range on top of a greyscale miniature for a hobby competition of Monument Hobbies.

Happy to show you the result of my painted miniture from .
I called my version „In my Heaven - where ocean meets heaven“ and is exhibited at .
The skin is shown very pale, but still with some red tones to make it partly more alive. Otherwise I have used a lot of blue for the skin, to achieve this dead appearance as well. The background piece is held in blue to represent the ocean. The top gets lighter as the sun rays brighten it up.
