[FR] Z & le pianiste, des personnages bien différents mais qui ont en commun l’amour de la musique.

L’une est plongée dans une solitude mélancolique liée à son déracinement pour atteindre ses rêves.

L’autre est déjà atteint par une amertume caractérisée par le manque de reconnaissance de son talent.

[EN] Z & the Pianist, very different characters who share a common love for music.

One is immersed in a melancholic solitude, shaped by her displacement in pursuit of her dreams.

The other is already burdened by an amertume born from the lack of recognition for his talent.

[EN] In the film, In the Mood for Love, red expresses a desire for intimacy constrained by society’s rules.

In Knowing the Language, intimacy is held back differently. Not by society, but by the absence of a shared language. The French pianist’s rejection is not moral, but linguistic.

Within the cabaret nightlife, red also becomes a womb. A refuge from the cold alienness of the outside world, where outsiders can momentarily find belonging through music.
[FR] Dans In the Mood for Love, le rouge exprime un désir d’intimité contraint par les règles sociales.

Dans Knowing the Language, l’intimité est entravée autrement. Non par la société, mais par l’absence de langue commune. Le rejet du pianiste français n’est pas moral, il est linguistique.

Au cœur de la nuit du cabaret, le rouge devient aussi un ventre. Un refuge face à la froide étrangeté du monde extérieur, où les marginaux peuvent, un instant, trouver leur place à travers la musique.
