Bringing The Backlot Cinema & Diner to life in Blackpool was the culmination of a six-year journey of design and development, driven by a passionate team committed to creating something truly unique for the local community. Despite COVID-19 and the Hollywood writers’ strike hitting the UK cinema industry hard, the Backlot team built a loyal following and delivered their vision.
The team has poured heart and soul into making the cinema a true success. Together, we’ve built a vibrant social hub—far more than just a cinema and diner—bringing the community together through a diverse range of events and experiences.
With our promise fulfilled and audiences growing, we’ve spent recent months preparing the cinema for handover to a national operator.
From August 15th, Arc Cinemas, a respected national cinema chain, will take over operation of The Backlot. We’re confident they will continue our work and provide a great experience for the people of Blackpool.
We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far and grateful to everyone who has spent time with us at The Backlot.
