Alan Barnes (our Charles) just sent us this pic from his album as it reminded him of our lovely pics from today!
What a beautiful photo of him & Diane (our Nan) looking like a right pair of cheeky monkeys in their classroom just off-set while filming (I don’t think there was much work being done, though!)
Thanks, Alan.

A bit of chit chat on camera, playing around testing camera, lighting etc., just last week.
Not sure why Diane and Alan look so fed up! It was just the way the pic was captured in the moment - honest! I’ll share some footage with you all soon.
Group pic featuring Nick Burton & Yvette, and Diane chose a cake that matched her outfit perfectly!

This year brings the 65th anniversary of the production and subsequent release of, one of my all-time favourite films, ‘Whistle Down the Wind’.
Over the last 7 months I have have been regularly trundling over to glorious Pendle, having been entrusted with the incredible privilege of developing this most special of legacy projects, archiving cast anecdotes and memorabilia, planning a documentary (currently in production) to be released alongside some special screening, exhibition, and Q&A events.
The film, features surviving cast members - the children, now in their 70s - mostly still living in the local area to where the film was shot on location.
The project will act as a definitive digital account of their experiences of working on the film, as well as its impact on the local area.
Having been welcomed into the homes of the lovely Diane (Nan Bostock) and Pam (disciple), I have spent many hours digitally archiving memorabilia, as well as listening to their wonderful anecdotes from this one-off, experience of a lifetime.
On Thursday, Diane was my tour guide as we enjoyed a pleasant spring meander around the private estate of Downham, walking in the very footsteps of Nan, Charles, and of course, Kathy Bostock, played by Hayley Mills.
Though a lot of groundwork has been laid on the project, we really need to procure funding and/or find sponsorship to complete this wonderful work and bring it to the wider public, in the standard it so deserves.
If you’d like to donate, please follow this link to our crowdfunder: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/wdtw65
I will be releasing some tasters over the weeks and months to come, as well as information about special fundraising events. I will post some links to the social media accounts connected to the project in the comments so be sure to follow them to stay updated!
If you’d like to find out more or enquire if you can contribute creatively in some way, please drop me a message directly, either through my inbox here or by emailing: [email protected].
Thank you to everyone who has supported the fund, shown an interest so far, or contributed in any way.
Thank you for reading x
