We're delighted to say that our two weekends of presenting Disney films, in collaboration with CROYDON BID, on their Centre Court big screen have been a great success. Families had "a magical outdoor cinema experience", relaxing on deckchairs and bean bags in the shade of Caithness Walk, Ruskin Square. They enjoyed LILO & STICH (2002); ENCANTO (2021) and INSIDE OUT 2 (2023), and we handed out many DLC brochures, meeting people who often proved to be unfamiliar with the cinema.

Many thanks to Croydon Bid for making these special, good-natured opportunities possible, and we hope to see some of the audience at our family films coming up later in July and August. Photos by DLC Chair Sam Clark, who said the screenings "Made me feel good about Croydon!"

In this second autobiographical film by Duigan (after 'The Year My Voice Broke'), Taylor plays Danny, now at a rural boarding school, where he meets Thandiwe, the rebellious daughter of African parents. Before long a romance develops, despite rules that seek to keep them apart. This tender film sees early performances from female stars Kidman and Newton, as well as Naomi Watts.
