Here’s the full pre-screening presentation we showed before last night’s screening of Mean Girls 💖

Usually these presentations are something only the audience in the room gets to experience, but for the first time ever we’re putting the entire thing online.

From production trivia to the lasting cultural impact of the film, this was our way of celebrating one of the funniest and most quotable comedies ever made before the lights went down.

If you joined us on the night, hopefully this lets you relive some of the fun.

And if you couldn’t make it, here’s a look at part of what makes our screenings special beyond just watching the film itself.

A room full of people laughing together at a film they could easily stream at home will always remind us why cinema matters.

“You can’t sit with us!” …unless you came to our screening of Mean Girls tonight, in which case we were very happy that you did. 💖

A huge thank you to everybody who joined us for our latest In The Mood For Film screening. Seeing so many people come together to laugh, quote along, and celebrate a film as endlessly rewatchable as Mean Girls reminded us exactly why we do this.

The thing about Mean Girls is that it’s everywhere. It’s streaming online, endlessly quoted, clipped, memed, and instantly available at the push of a button. But the fact that so many people still chose to leave the house, grab a seat in a darkened theatre, and experience it with a crowd proves something important:

Cinema should never be allowed to die.

Hearing a room full of people react together to “She doesn’t even go here!”, “Get in loser, we’re going shopping”, and of course “On Wednesdays we wear pink” is something streaming at home can never recreate.

Thank you as well for embracing all the little extras that make our screenings special, from the lobby cards to the burn book, and for continuing to support independent community cinema with us.

Our next screening is the haunting cult classic Carnival of Souls on Sunday 28th June, and we cannot wait to welcome you all back again for something a little darker, stranger, and unforgettable.

There’s now only SEVEN DAYS to go until our screening of Mean Girls at Doncaster Little Theatre and we’ve officially sold over 50 tickets.

The response has genuinely blown us away.
