Matt Walker - Company Director & Head Choreographer Bio
Matt Walker started dancing at the age of 3 where he studied tap, ballet, modern and jazz at the Jeanne Bamforth School of dancing. At the age of 16 Matt co-founded The Urban Dance School that is now established across the south east of England delivering over 15 classes a week. Matt did his professional training at The Urdang Academy and as
a dancer his performance artist credits include dancing for One direction, Roll Deep, J2k, Loveable Rogues, Guy Ivory, Gary Go, Ladee Lush, Cheryl, Mariah Carey and Chris Brown aswell as performing at a wide range of prestigious international events and venues including Wembley Arena, 02 Academies, Millennium Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Twickenham Stadium and at The Cannes Film Festival. Matt has also appeared in the films The Nutcracker: The Untold Story and Legacy as well as in ITV’s Britannia High and at the UK movie premiers for High School Musical 3 and Adam Sandler’s Bedtime Stories. As a Choreographer/Creative director Matt has received 9 choreography awards, some of these for his work with his professional dance company Ombrascura Dance that he co-founded in 2008. He has also choreographed music videos and national & international performances for recording artists Ladee Lush, Sassy-An, DotStar, L, Young Don, NY, Gfresh, Gurindeer Seagul and aswell as amassing a choreography and performance client list for Disney, BBC2, Channel5, House of Fraiser, Criminal Clothing, Coca Cola, Dance Challenge, Paco Rabanne, Pearl Izumi, Budweiser, Quicksilver, Dettol, FIFA World Cup, Harlequins Rugby, Surrey Storm Netball and Sky Sports.
