The company was set up a while back after working on a number of projects. I personally have a natural flare/ability for design drawings and studied interior design at a prestigious academy in central London. Interior design is a multi-faceted profession in which creative and technical solutions are applied within a structure to achieve a concise interior environment. These solutions are not only functional but enhance the quality of life and culture of the occupants and are aesthetically attractive. The work of an interior designer draws upon many disciplines including environmental psychology, architecture, product design and traditional decoration (aesthetics and cosmetics). It involves planning the spaces of almost every type of building including: hotels, corporate spaces, schools, hospitals, private residences, shopping malls, restaurants, theatres, movie sets and airport terminals. Today, interior designers must be attuned to architectural detailing including floor plans, home renovations and construction codes. The interior design process follows a systematic and coordinated methodology including research, analysis and integration of knowledge into the creative process, whereby the needs and resources of the client are satisfied to produce an interior space that fulfils the project goals. I can bring my expertise to the table either earlier on in the process when the architects are looking at all the structural work that needs to be done or at a later stage. It is usually advisable to come in earlier in the project, so everyone has the same ideas and runs with it. My main input will be around spatial planning (using the space available maximally), furniture, soft furnishings, decorative accessories, shelving, wall paper, paints, flooring, curtains/blinds, gadgets and so on, to suit the feel required for individual rooms. There are different styles that can be applied and through a series of consultation I can design a mood and/or sample board to help clients get a better picture of what the room would look like. I would then design elevations and plans (based on actual measurements) incorporating where every item in the room will sit. In addition to this, all costings for items agreed will be done by me and I will facilitate their delivery when it is required.
