The Movie Dweeb The Hits and Sh*ts of Movies

šŸŽ„ Hawaiian shirted cinema-goer. šŸæ Floppy-haired film fanatic. šŸŽ¬ Welcome to The Movie Dweeb. This is The Crisp Dweebā€¦

Oh. Sure.

My nameā€™s Daniel Merrifield, and I am a dweeb who likes ā€“ you guessed it ā€“ crisps. This is The Movie Dweeb? Iā€™m a dweeb who likes movies? That makes more sense. At The Movie Dweeb, you can find interviews with some of the biggest film stars on the planet; previously, I have spoken to the likes of Margot Robbie, Jim Carrey, Gal Gadot and Owen Wilson. You can also expect reviews and news about the yearā€™s most anticipated movies. My interviews have also been covered by a series of other outlets, including Digital Spy, ComicBook.com, Metro, Screen Rant, The Independent, Movieweb and more. Make sure you check back to The Movie Dweeb for interviews and reviews. If you have anything you want to say to me ā€“ whether itā€™s a suggestion for something to feature on the website, or just a friendly ā€˜helloā€™ ā€“ then drop me a message. (Or, if youā€™re writing hate mail, please, erm, donā€™t.)

Bobby Moynihan just single-handedly completed my SNL autograph collection. šŸ˜šŸ˜‚

Since every Saturday Night Live legend Iā€™ve interviewed has been over Zoom, I asked Bobby Moynihan to sign my prized SNL cap on their behalfā€¦ What could possibly go wrong?

Who swears more: Helen Mirren or Ricky Gervais? šŸ¤¬

Mandeep Dhillon has worked with both, starring alongside Helen Mirren in MobLand and recently working with Ricky Gervaisā€¦ And apparently, thereā€™s a VERY clear winner.

22/09/2026

Helen Mirren nearly broke her teeth opening a bottle with her mouth while Pierce Brosnan was giving the most heartfelt answer about his younger self. šŸ˜

Pierce reflected on being 18, discovering acting and the moment he knew he wanted to become an actorā€¦ While Helen caused absolute carnage next to him.

Did Channing Tatum have a secret Instagram burner account?! šŸ”Ž

The internet thinks it found Channingā€™s alleged burner after a mysterious account started commenting on posts about ZoĆ« Kravitz and Harry Styles.

Obviously thereā€™s no confirmation it was actually Channing, but if youā€™re a celebrity planning a burner account, I think we need to establish some ground rules. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan reveal how they ended up signing on for MobLandā€¦ Despite not really knowing what they were getting themselves into. šŸ˜

The pair explain how Guy Ritchie, a gangster family and the prospect of working together convinced them to take a leap into the unknown.

Mandeep Dhillon has ā€œconfirmedā€ sheā€™s the new Bond Girlā€¦ Sort of. šŸ˜‚

After Pierce Brosnan previously gave the MobLand star his blessing to become a Bond Girl, Mandeep Dhillon decided it was time to start the rumour herself. šŸ‘€

So who should play James Bond opposite her?

Hayley Atwell on Robert Downey Jrā€™s transformation from Iron Man to Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. šŸ‘€

She says RDJ is having ā€œso much funā€ playing Victor von Doom, and admits taking on the role after Tony Stark is a pretty big gamble.

Pierce Brosnan was one of my Dadā€™s dream interviews, so this moment meant more to me than I can explain. ā¤ļø

Thank you Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren for being so incredibly kind. Iā€™ll never forget this.

I really hope Dadā€™s watching somewhere, absolutely buzzing that this finally happened, and showing off to everyone in Heaven that his son interviewed Pierce Brosnan.

Iā€™m missing you, Dad. Always. ā¤ļø

This is how I imagine Sydney Sweeneyā€™s controversial Novig ad was pitched. šŸ’€

The Euphoria actress is facing backlash over the new sports betting campaignā€¦ And I have several questions about that creative meeting.

16/09/2026

Hayley Atwell talks about THAT iconic Peggy Carter punch in Captain America: The First Avengersā€¦ And apparently I look like I could take one too. šŸ„Š
