Clients have been many and varied . Sarah Ninot has a BA Hons in textile design from Central School of Art and Design (now Central St Martins) and she studied pattern cutting at The London College of Fashion. She then went on to work in Film and Theatre in the costume department using her knowledge of fabrics and decoration. She has worked with many different companies over the years and with many

famous names including Dame Judy Dench and Ralph Fiennes. Initially she worked as Costume Supervisor’s Assistant at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre sourcing and dyeing fabrics, organizing and running fittings, artificially ageing textiles for period productions, knitting and printing ,here she worked with many actors who have now become household names including Rhys Ifans, Martin Clunes, Sam Spiro, and Damien Lewis. During this time Sarah started making costumes for various productions. After this she worked for Cosprop, the costume production company that provides costumes for many period dramas on tv and film, including many of the Merchant Ivory films, where she improved her costume making skills. Soon after she was employed to work with award winning designer Anne Hollowood on several Jim Henson productions at Elstree Studios including the TV series The Story Teller making costumes for Jane Horrocks and Joely Richardson .This series won a BAFTA award for Best Costume Design. Later she worked on the movie Muppet Treasure Island starring Tim Curry and Billy Connolly. This led to her running the cutting room on a TV movie of Merlin, which featured Miranda Richardson, Helena Bonham Carter, Sam Niel , Isabella Rossellini .The film won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Costume Design for a film or mini series. After this Sarah started a family and her attentions were drawn back to the theatre, where she has worked constantly since .Sarah still makes costumes for each summer season at Regent’s Park. This theatre company has been enjoying great success in recent years winning several Olivier awards for their musical productions including Best Costume for their production of Crazy for You in 2012. Other companies she has worked with include The Royal National Theatre, English National Opera, The Royal Opera House, The Royal Shakespeare Company, Cheek by Jowl Theatre Company, and The Donmar Warehouse. She has worked on many west end productions including shows for Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Cameron Mackintosh, and on the Ken Loach movie Ladybird Ladybird. Sarah has had a studio at the Chocolate Factory in Wood Green,North London for five years, she now divides her time between making period costumes for principal ladies and running her new company Travelling Wardrobe where she designs and makes clothes for real people in a contemporary vintage style . Wherever possible Sarah uses upcycled and vintage fabrics which she sometimes is able to source from past theatrical projects and frequently trawls around charity shops looking for interesting items to customize. She is currently working on a dance video, designing costumes and collaborating on the set design. This project involves various artists –choreographer/dancer, sound, camera and make-up and costume working together in order to illustrate the work of her husband Robert Ninot, the contemporary composer. In 2012 Sarah started to become involved in styling a young performer and she organised a photo shoot at a local vintage store. Earlier this year Sarah moved her studio to an N8 address in North London, and continues to make clothing for many varied productions and now some magazine features.
2017 brought Sheridan Smith and Sir Derek Jacobi to her list of people she has made for,and via a collegu. Melanie Williams , wallpaper frocks for Mileu Magazine ,an american interior design publication ,with one of her dresses adorning the front cover.
