PART 2 ✌🏼
I’ve had A LOT of jobs in my time…and in truth, I’ve been a bit crap at parts of all of them 😂
But I genuinely think every single job teaches you something. Even the ones that don’t end up being “your thing”. Even the ones you outgrow. Even the ones that make you realise exactly what you DON’T want!
Every role I’ve had has given me a skill or experience I use now, in my own business, every single day.
The law firm taught me about real pressure and target driven environments (see Part 1)! Nightclub work proved to me how much energy and confidence I had, plus how to connect with people quickly, even when they’re drunk 😂 Side Note: Drunk people will buy anything 😂😂😂 Working in a school taught me the skill of organising large scale events. And my retail jobs taught me the importance of the client experience and how important it is to make people feel comfortable and heard.
And equally…the bits I wasn’t good at taught me just as much too!
They taught me I’m not built for overly repetitive work. I’m not naturally super “Type A”. I don’t thrive in really corporate environments. In fact, I really dislike them. I need creativity, variety, freedom and people around me like I need oxygen! Genuinely.
I think as you get older, you stop seeing past jobs as random detours and start seeing how they all slowly pushed you towards the life and work that actually suits you 🙏🏻
So if you too feel like you’ve had what feels like 73636 jobs, changed direction too many times or still haven’t fully figured it out yet…that’s completely normal and also totally fine!
You’re probably learning more about yourself than you realise 👀
