If you are interested in psychology and want to become friends with like minded people, no matter what course you are studying, the Psychology Society is the right place for you! We have weekly social events where we meet up for some fun at the Pub Quiz or before Bus2club and once a month we hold a film club. We also organise trips to museim or interesting lectures at other universities, as well a

s inviting guest lecturers to St. As you can see, we have a lot going, whether you are up for some socialising or want to learn more about current issues in the field of Psychology, so why not come along and join us!

Exciting times as we prepare for the return of 20+ Psychology Alumni to St Mary’s next Wednesday (10th)!

Have you got any questions regarding your future careers and/or studies within psychology and related fields? If so, come along and speak to our Alumni and see what advice and tips they have for you.

We have a reception (starting at 5pm, with free snacks and teas/coffees) prior to an educational talk from Dr Conan O’Brien (clinical psychologist) where you can ask our Alumni any questions on your mind and hear first hand how they managed being graduates, pursuing careers or further studies in various fields and discovering their own personal direction.

Hey everyone and welcome to all the new freshers !! Come by the Freshers’ Fair on the 13th of September (in the tennis centre) to meet us and find out more about our society. We’ll be around on the 19th as well for Societies‘ Day in the SU lounge and Marquee. Both events run from 12-4pm. Very excited to see you all there 🎉

Hi everyone, on Wednesday 14th of March, we have the very amazing professor Mark Cropley from Surrey university visit to give a talk on the importance of psychologically switching off from work. If you're interested in health psychology or just switching off every now and then, this talk is for you. The talk will be in room G5 at 6pm. 1 week to go! Hope to see you all there ☺️

Thank you to everyone who came to the 'Why do some people become Psychopaths?' talk by the wonderful Professor Essi Viding from University College London. This talk gave our society members a detailed insight on the causes of Psychopathy, specifically environmental, neural and genetic explanations. We are very proud to have received numerous awards at this year's Society Awards. We could not have won 'Society of the Year' and 'Best Student-led Campaign/Event' without our lovely members, so a big thank you to everyone who participated in our events throughout the year! It is also great to see that the hard work our Vice-president Matt Sayce has put in this year didn't go unnoticed - he truly deserved to win the award for 'Committee Member of the Year'!

We'd also like to congratulate StMarys DramaSociety for winning 'Most Improved Society of the Year', and St Mary's Afro-Caribbean Society for their award for 'Community and Outreach'.

Finally, congratulations also to Rebecca Pritchard for being voted Student Rep of the Year - you did a great job representing Psychology students over the last couple years! :)
