Sally Winter is a UK based Costume Designer, author and screenwriter who works in Film, Theatre, TV and Music Videos. Sally is also currently working with director Kate Thompson-Gorry and Producer Erin Martin on the development of a feature film: How Time Flies, adapted from one of Sally's novels: Rhubarbs and Circuses.

Born and raised in London, Sally has moved around the UK and lived in a picturesque village in the heart of Englandโ€™s beautiful countryside as well as by the sea.

She initially trained as an engineering tracer and detail draftsperson. Before CAD, everything was hand-drawn to a high standard. Subsequently she set up a company employing several tracers.

She also worked for Marvel comics editing the original US comic illustrations for the UK market.

With the advancement of digital imagery and a less hands on market, she decided to retrain.

She obtained a distinction in Art and Design and an MA in Costume Design; and has worked in the film and TV industry ever since, on feature films, photoshoots, commercials, music videos, ballet and ice-skating shows.

She has since stepped up to be Production Designer on several shorts.

As well as these two disciplines, she also writes novels and screenplays, one of which has recently been optioned with a view to film in the summer of 2026.
