Akksar Allahabadi (born Faisal Kamar Usmani on April 17, 1974) is an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter, and lyricist known primarily for his contributions to independent ("indie") cinema and regional television.
Early Life and Education
Birth: Born in the village of Ratgaha, near Allahabad (now Prayagraj), Uttar Pradesh.
Family: His father, Q.U. Usmani, was a government college principal.
Education: He initially studied Aeronautical Engineering at the Aeronautical Society of India but left the course to pursue a career in the film industry.
Professional Career
Allahabadi began his journey in 1995 as an assistant scriptwriter for television in Chennai.

Served as an assistant scriptwriter for shows like Sone Ka Offer.
Wrote dialogues for over 250 episodes of the daily soap Yahi Hai Zindagi on ETV Urdu.
Contributed to other shows including Roop Shringar, Dhurandhar, and Saas Bahu Ki Kahaniyan.
Film Direction and Writing:
Godaam (2021): His most notable work as a writer and director. The film focuses on the struggles of Indian farmers and won Best Director and Best Picture at the Flixze Film Festival (Virginia, USA) in 2019.
Indie Projects: He directed the unreleased English feature film An American in India (2011).
Dubbing and Lyrics: Provided Hindi dialogues and lyrics for dubbed versions of Tamil classics like Mudal Maryadai and Karutamma.
Production Roles:
Founded Usmania Pictures with his wife.
Served as Associate Producer for Mob Humor (2023) starring Tom Sizemore and Executive Producer for Exorcism Of Dennyann (2023).
