Meet Deyali Mukherjee from India, One of the panelists of our 1st Online panel discussion “Taking our Short Films Beyond Borders.”
Deyali Mukherjee is an independent filmmaker based in India. She has directed her first anthology feature film “Three Auspicious Hours” (Teen Muhurat) which has been screened at many film festivals and released in Indian theatres. She has also produced an independent feature film “Half Songs” which is available on Amazon Prime Video in the USA & UK.
Deyali received ‘The Lets’doc Fellowship Award’ for her documentary feature “The Village Girl Who Ran”(in-production). She graduated from the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) and Busan Asian Film School, South Korea. She started her career as an Architect (B. Arch, Jadavpur University, 2009) and then her film career started by assisting Srilankan film director Vimukthi Jayasundara in the Bengali feature “Chatrak” (Director's Fortnight, Cannes 2011). Deyali has also worked as Art Director, Production Designer, and Cinematographer for films. Presently she is developing a Bengali feature film “Notun Gur” as an international co-production between India, Singapore, the UK, and Taiwan.
