As requested, please ensure that the top of your batteries are taped when dropping them off in the Battery Heaven's 😊

Just a friendly reminder, if you're bringing dead batteries 🪫 to one of our Battery Heaven's located at the Rangitīkei District Community Hubs and our waste transfer stations, makes sure they're like the one on the right (tape over the top).

Batteries can contain a residual charge that can lead to a fire 😬.

Preventing this is as simple as putting cellotape (or any non-conductive tape) over the terminal 😊

Ever wondered how things worked before WiFi, Google,..... and even electricity? You can find out this weekend at the Marton Museum. The museum will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm both days. This will be the last weekend in our series of open weekends celebrating Rangitīkei Heritage.

If you are visiting from out of town, the Marton Museum is situated very close to the fantastic Te Ahūru Mōwai playground. While you're here take some time to explore Marton's charming cafes and boutique shops, which are open on Saturday morning.

Taking place from 1 June to 8 June, Rotary New Zealand are committed to collecting ONE MILLION cans of food to support the local food banks in our communities.

We're supporting this community project by offering collection points at our Community Hubs in Taihape, Marton and Bulls.

Please get behind this very worthwhile cause 😊

Taihape Good Sorts: Meet Anne from Taihape, here she is doing her recycling at the Waste Transfer Station. She parks her car up the road, saves petrol, gets her steps in. What a legend Anne.

The Older and Bolder group from Taihape were having coffee and kai this week at The Lobby. Two of Taihape's Community Hubs staff Lynda and Ali are part of this awesome group. Aunty Raerae was passing by as well.
