In 1998, she became a licensed minister and the overseer of the Prayer Ministry at Anointed Word Christian Ministries, under the spiritual covering of Ocie Reese Jr., Senior Pastor. This is where Michelle discovered her passion for writing and producing plays. In April 2003 she was ordained as an Elder at Anointed Word Christian Ministries and started their first Drama Ministry, the Anointed Word
Players. She graduated from Georgia State University in the spring of 2004 with an undergraduate degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. She also started her production company, Beauty for Ashes Enterprises, that same year. Michelle has written several short plays: War in the Heavenlies, The Answer, Alabaster box, The Housewife and The Provider, Could You Not Watch With Me One Hour, Choices, Dream!! and “Whatever Happened to the Den?”, which is a culmination of three of her shorter works. There are many plays that come to the city , but few that have a profound and life changing impact as “Whatever Happened to the Den?” This production actually weighs true to life situations and challenges causing one to think of consequences for one’s actions, therefore leaving the audience with a feeling of completeness instead of just another laugh at a funny satire. Michelle wrote Whatever Happened to the Den? to express her concerns about the African American church and all of it’s time honored traditions. She addresses social issues such as; racism, adultery, drugs, social and physical abuse. She presents these issues in a manner that allows us to laugh at ourselves but at the same time think about why we are who we are and why we do what we do. Her newest production; The Warrior Within, deals with the challenges of life on the streets and how the triumphant spirit of each character shines through in the end. is another one of her stage play inspired by the 1985 movie "The Breakfast Club". This stage play looks at 8 teens that discover their God-given talents. Its is funny but also highlights some of the issues our teens face everyday. Court is in Session (Family Court) is the latest of her stage productions. This play is the first part of her Court Trilogy. These productions are about the faith filled Comical Judge James Malachi. His judgements are heartfelt and hilarious!
