Mission Statement-
We believe the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is complex, many see it to be binary but within these two sides there is a large spectrum of opinions. We are hoping to expose these differences along the entire spectrum to challenge students to think critically. By way, we are engaging students in participating in active dialogue that will aid in their ability to join in conversation
s beyond the boundaries of a singular conflict. This need arose from previous failures attempting to provide this platform for discourse. Encouraging students to face different perspectives other than their own will challenge them to apply this to a greater campus climate that involves race, identity, sexuality, gender, religion and socioeconomic status. Objectives-
1.Dispelling myths and assumptions
2.Producing a comfortable, safe space for students of all perspectives, backgrounds and experiences to respectfully participate in discourse.
3.Maintaining a non partisan stance, informed by our own backgrounds.
4.Challenging students in active dialogue
5.Creating a platform for students to take over this initiative in the future
6.Based on unbiased funding sources from various pools
7.Working to integrate programs on campus such as OneVoice, Jewish Voices for Peace, Avi Schaefer Foundation, Student for Justice in Palestine, JStreet, Ultimate Peace.
8.Working with groups already established on campus such as TALQ BIG, Hillel, Umoja, Asian Student Union, Rosh Chodesh, Goucher Women of Color Circle, Goucher Christian Fellowship, Goucher Interfaith Club, Goucher Ultimate Frisbee to promote dialogue between students.
9.Bringing events that will involve speakers, movie screenings, dinners, round tables, sporting events, field trips and panels.
10.Engaging with the Baltimore Community such as local universities, community members, community based groups (Red Emma’s), and restaurants.
