Cowabunga Corner

Cowabunga Corner Cowabunga Corner, a place where fans can hang out and just be themselves. Enjoying the stuff that m From events, interviews to reviews of the different medias.

Covering different TV shows and movies upon our website, letting people know our thoughts upon the new releases and even tv series that have been around for awhile. The video blog is best known for it's coverage of the many different areas of Ninja Turtles. Our interviews are usually from 15 minutes to an hour long depending on how much the guest has to say. The guests could be either the talent b

ehind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or fans that support the Turtles of all ages. We have interviewed people from the original comics, toys, cartoons, and movies to the tour, 4Kids series, IDW and even Nickelodeon TMNT. Always working to talk with the talents on how they heard of TMNT, how they got their job, and any other details that people may be interested in. TMNT reviews are long on the Cowabunga Corner website. They are go through most of the story of what is being review be it the comic book or cartoon series. The reviews do not include the very end of the episode or comics as we encourage people to watch the show and not rely on getting the story through us. We do have Toy reviews - videos usually include first reactions as I open the toys. Events - we do a lot of events and it's hard to do all of our reviews of the events while on the road so some of these will be posted a little bit down the road. Though we hope that the event reviews help those who could not make it, get to feel like they at least got to see what happened. We also want to encourage people to try and make to events in the future if they're good ones. By posting reviews we can make it so our viewers are part of the event even if they live far away. There is a few writers on the website. Each writer is credited by their account or written in. Michele Ivey is the lead writer and host of Cowabunga Corner founding it in 2010. Phoenix is the lead editor and another reviewer on Cowabunga Corner, with Michele since day one. Helping make the site look just as awesome as it is. Claudia Ivey is Michele's mother, she does not write often but does add to the site when she goes to events. Dakota is a new writer to the website, a fellow TMNT fan who wants to share his thoughts upon what is going on with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Other writers do come and go, we do welcome guest writers. If anyone has any questions about Cowabunga Corner or feel that we missed out on some details here please do let us know.

The Turtle costume I am seen wearing on VH1's "Totally Obsessed" was made by my father, Dave Ivey. As long as I can remember he made costumes. My favorites were his Volcano Gods and my two Mikey costumes. His costumes won world costume contests. They were a major part of my entire family.

Every Halloween it was the smell of contact cement glue and spray paint, as we got what we wanted for trick or treating. Always having the coolest costumes in town.

In 1994 my dad did a book, which he updated in 2006. His book was how to make costumes. They were printed at home, stapled together, and sold at conventions. This book is "Foam Sculpting by Dave Ivey or What's That Hiding in your couch cushion?!" Till now live events with my dad was the only way to get this book.

This book is now avaliable on Amazon as I have put together a 3rd version of the book. It includes a Foreword by me, an About Author page and tons of photos of my dad and his foam work. All while keeping his original layout, fonts, and drawings through the book.

My dad passed away on July 24th, 2020. This is away to keep his work alive. He did a lot of amazing things in his life, as a teenager he got his first cartoon on the air as the intro for a local kids show, then went on to be the art director on the Ghoul Show, and made props for stores, haunted attractions, and so much more. Later in his life he worked on Wolfman Mac's Chriller Drive-In. I am so proud of his life and all he did.

I want to share my dad's books with our followers here. You can find it for sale at this link

Here are some pictures of my dad and his work.

If you're artist and want to learn some new tricks. If you're hoping to learn to sculpt. Or if you're just looking for something different to do. Check out this book and let your creativity be seen!

Most of my friends know that I was a member of TMNT-L. For those who don't know, TMNT-L was one of the longest running fan groups on the internet. It started as a small mailing list in 1995, by a man name Johnathan, when he gave up the mailing list it was taken over by my friend Neil, who ran it till 2005 when it became a message board, where a friend of mine and me turned it into the form that it remained until 2018 when that friend decided to ghost all of us.

The L stands for list, as when it started we used listserv, which was part of the email address we had to use to mail to the group. And because that was the known name, we just kept the L all those years. I was broken when TMNT-L disappeared from the internet, and in 2020 the email went down... which was my main email address for 15 years... I lost a LOT when this happened... accounts I could not recover without the email address.

To this day I don't know why the friend ghosted us, ignoring messages of even friends he knew going into surgery, getting cancer and even passing away. The subject depresses me, because that soul was a good friend to many of us. It's been years with him out of the picture though...

I personally have been trying to save TMNT-L... I know that he still has the backup files, because that's the type of person he is. So maybe one day he'll at least return those to us. In the mean time, it was trying to get the server name back at least... to save all those lost accounts I had.

I am so thrilled to say that last week, we were able to finally get TMNT-L back. My old email address is saved. I have found that some of the accounts that I was able to finally recovered had all of the information within them deleted for sitting untouched for 3 and a half years trying to get back into these files. But it's a start.

I don't see me starting the old message board back up, but if I ever do get the files I will at least put it back up as an archive. In the meantime there's other ideas on how to bring TMNT-L back.

For me TMNT-L was my all time favorite hang out with friends here on the internet. I met so many amazing souls through that group. Many of which I met in person. Some I'm still in touch with to this day, others have gone off on their own adventures. Though I still care for everyone who I met through those groups. It was amazing time on the internet as things were so new and fresh. The idea of meeting other people who share the same passion. I love to keep that history alive. I do look forward to doing something in honor of the old group.

I'm just very happy to say that TMNT-L is back in our hands. The group is not forgotten.
