Film is Fabulous is doing excellent work in making sure that when film collectors sadly pass away, their families can donate their collections to the most suitable archive organisations, rather than get chucked out, often ending up in landfills.

Please send them a few quid if you can help, you can read more about them at
https://filmisfabulous.org.uk/
and check out their news page to see how many previously lost films and missing tv episodes have been retrieved, since they launched in 2023. 👏

Hi folks!

As Halloween approaches, a heads-up for our followers who can get to the Windmill Cinema - Littlehampton, they have two absolute gems coming up.

On Friday 31 October you can watch The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), info here,
https://windmillcinema.co.uk/WindmillCinema.dll/WhatsOn?f=7490086

Then, the next evening, Saturday 1 November there's a screening of An American Werewolf in London (1981), info here,
https://windmillcinema.co.uk/WindmillCinema.dll/WhatsOn?f=7490415

I saw the Hammer film in Worthing a couple of weeks ago, it was brilliant to see horror legends Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee on the big screen, and would go to see it again, however I've already booked a ticket for Candyman (1992) at the Connaught for Halloween night.

But I will definitely be at the Windmill on Nov 1, not seen An American Werewolf in London at the cinema since it's original release, so really looking forward to that too. ❤️

Hi Folks,

At our previous public meetings we have highlighted the excellent work that Film is Fabulous is doing to build bridges between private film collectors and archive organisations, and in the course of doing so, help find, preserve and restore previously lost films and television episodes.

They now have been registered as an official charity, which means they can take donations to help with their many ongoing costs.

Read more about their charitable status and remit at:

also look at what they have achieved so far:

It is so important that our cultural heritage is not being chucked onto skips and put in landfills, and organisations like Film is Fabulous are vital in that ongoing battle. 👏

Hi folks!

There's a puppet festival in Bognor Regis this weekend, organised by Ken Blamires and his team. Ken has been very supportive of Arun Film over the past year. 👏

Highlights include a walk through the town from 10.15am, then two days of shows on the Royal Norfolk hotel gardens, including Punch and Judy, String Marionettes and Barrel Organ performances.

The weather forecast for both days looks good, I'll be along tomorrow around midday. 👍

Also there's a screening of The Little Shop of Horrors at the Picturedrome on Saturday night at 7.30pm as part of the Puppet Party weekend, 3 of the puppeteers who worked on the film will be talking about the making of the film celebrating its 40th Anniversary. 👍

Hi folks,

Arun Film is back on Facebook! Refreshed and relaxed after the glorious summer we just had, I'm ready to go again.

Our previous FB page got automatically taken down in July by their algorithm bots with no warning whatsoever. It seems that on your own personal feed you can put up whatever photos you like, but as this is technically a business page, even though all Arun Film content and public events are free, I have to be more careful with the pics I add to my posts, there may have been copyright issues with the Hollywood ones I previously used, although FB never told me to take them down, they just deleted my page.

So from now on I'll stick to more relevant and local pics, and hope this page survives! We had over 170 followers previously, I hope over time you'll all come back. 😁

The good news is that our website at arunfilm.com is safe with around 80 pages of material still up, thankfully nothing to do with Facebook, and over the next couple of weeks a load of new content will be added.

Thank you for your patience, it's good to be back, please follow/like this new page so you get notifications again of all our latest news.

Any questions, fire away!
