I’ve been seeing this trend of AI vs brand designers. So here we are but, banner edition!
All prompts are what both ChatGPT and I were given to design a banner.
1. A “she said yes” banner (for an engagement celebration), just paint please! 💍
2. One silly goose and preferred pink. Invitation for the baby shower was provided. 🪿
3. A sprinkle (does not know the gender), just paint. 👶🏼
4. Masters (golf) themed, a pink gingham border, and provided the party mood board, but also gave free rein. ⛳️
5. Henry’s third birthday that is superhero, comic-like themed. 💥
6. “A little duckling is on the way” and include vintage mallard ducks for a baby shower. 🦆
Sure, the AI mockups aren’t *bad* but they’re definitely not *good* either.
AI design is like that catchy song, it’s obviously not great, but it’s basic, repetitive, and familiar in a way so you’re tricked into accepting it. But it’s actually chaotic and lacks depth.
This isn’t to say you *can’t* use AI to design, because you do you, but let’s just agree to not have AI be your end all be all!
