We are happy to have a lot of Boulder crews working all throughout the state of Iowa this year. This crew is pouring new approaches for this new country bridge near Cedar Rapids. A lot of work happens before the sweat work happens. We're here for it all.

Issues aren't always visible at first look.

This Boulder crew is in Cedar Rapids renewing, replacing, and refacing this very old bridge downtown. All the salt and brine dripping down through the concrete for the last 80 years have softened portions of this historic bridge.

The original 3rd Avenue bridge was erected 114 years ago in 1912.

The very first permanent bridge at this location opened in 1871, serving as the only downtown river crossing for well over a decade. The aging 1871 bridge was replaced by the current concrete arch structure, which was built between 1911 and 1912.

It underwent a significant overhaul in 1966 and now.... Boulder Contracting has the honor of overhauling the bones of this old girl once more.
