When God Moves Quietly
“Be still, and know that I am God…” — Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
We often expect God to move in noise—big doors opening, loud confirmations, undeniable signs. But some of God’s most powerful work happens in silence.
Silence is uncomfortable because it forces us to confront what we really believe. When there’s no immediate answer, no visible progress, no emotional confirmation—you find out if your faith is rooted in feelings or in truth.
God is not absent in your stillness. He is working beneath the surface—aligning things you cannot see, strengthening parts of you you didn’t know were weak, and preparing you for what you’ve been praying for.
The danger is not in the silence. The danger is in misinterpreting the silence.
Silence does not mean denial.
Silence does not mean delay without purpose.
Silence does not mean God has forgotten you.
Sometimes God quiets everything around you so you can finally hear Him within you.
So today, don’t rush the silence—rest in it. Because while it may feel like nothing is happening, heaven is handling things you could never fix on your own.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to trust You even when I don’t hear You. Teach me to be still in a world that pressures me to move. Strengthen my faith in the quiet seasons, and remind me that Your silence is never Your absence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
