designed in houston, tx.

so naturally, we pay attention to the way this city uses color.

combinations that might feel unexpected on a moodboard, but completely natural when you find them in the real world.

houston is full of moments like these.

proof that color inspiration doesn’t always begin with a trend.

sometimes, it’s already waiting somewhere you love.

the best clubs of the 2000s weren’t designed to disappear.

they had glowing floors. mirrored walls. curved furniture. enough colored light to make every room feel like a different world.

nothing was neutral.

nothing was trying to be timeless.

the lighting wasn’t there just to help you see. it created the mood. changed the scale of the room. made an ordinary hallway feel cinematic and a dance floor feel like the future.

nightlife became darker, simpler, more industrial.

but the spaces people still remember are usually the ones that gave them something to feel.

maybe you’ve never been to a club like this.

but somehow, we still miss it.

different glass finishes can completely change how a light feels in a space.

clear glass keeps the fixture feeling open and lets the light come through more directly, while textured and frosted finishes soften the glow and add a little more privacy and depth.

even when the shape stays the same, the glass can shift the entire mood of the piece.

which finish would you choose?

The Tuscan interior style is all about warmth, contrast, and layering.

Dark wood cabinetry, warm stone, wrought iron, arched details, textured walls, and amber lighting were used together to make large spaces feel more inviting.

Even with oversized kitchens, high ceilings, and open layouts, the heavier materials and warmer finishes kept the home from feeling empty or cold.

It’s a style that prioritized character and warmth over simplicity, which is probably why it feels so recognizable today.

Good design is all about proportion. The scale of one piece should always make sense with what’s around it. When the sizes and shapes relate to each other, the whole space feels more balanced and intentional.

It’s not always about the individual pieces, it’s about how they work together. Matching shape, scale, and proportion helps everything in a space feel more balanced and intentional.

A home that shows how much warmth you can create without relying on a ton of color. Wood paneling is carried throughout the space, while pattern, texture and lighting keep each room from feeling too uniform.

The mix of vintage-inspired furniture with more modern lighting is what makes it feel collected rather than overly designed.

When one piece gets bigger, the pieces around it usually need to scale with it. It’s what keeps everything feeling proportional instead of looking too small or out of place.
