✨ A Lucky Rabbit. A Famous Mouse. Two Brothers Who Started It All—103 Years Ago Today!
On October 16, 1923, two brothers took a chance on a dream that would forever change the world of entertainment.
Walt Disney was the imaginative storyteller. His older brother, Roy O. Disney, was the trusted business partner who helped transform Walt's creative ambitions into reality.
Together, they established the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, beginning with an agreement to produce a series of animated adventures known as the Alice Comedies.
Four years later, in 1927, audiences met Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Then, in 1928, Mickey Mouse made his unforgettable debut, beginning a new chapter in the brothers' remarkable story.
Today, as we celebrate The Walt Disney Company's 103rd anniversary, Disney Fine Artist Tim Rogerson brings these chapters of Disney history together in his delightful artwork, “Bros in Business.”
With a vintage movie camera between them, Mickey and Oswald joyfully welcome us outside the brothers' early studio on Kingswell Avenue in Hollywood.
It's an imaginative reunion across Disney history, capturing the optimism, artistic ingenuity, and pioneering spirit of the company's earliest years.
Through his expressive character designs, rich colors, and nostalgic setting, Rogerson has created a fitting tribute to the Walt and Roy Disney partnership—and to the generations of storytelling that followed.
