Melanie Kaye PR

Melanie Kaye PR www.melaniekayepr.com I grew up in Ottawa and in order to see the bands I wanted I started booking them myself. Keep your name clean.

By the age of 15 I was doing a little bit of everything; publicity, promotion, and management. I have continued working as an independent freelance publicist specializing in the punk/ underground music scene but I love all kinds of music. My focus is more on making sure whatever I am involved with has a positive and inclusive message. Since 1999 I have been running Fat Wreck Chords Canada and have

continued to develop and expand my client roster including internationally known artists, new bands, festivals, record labels from all over the world, movies, books and theatre productions. I decided when launching “Melanie Kaye PR” that the main criteria for choosing who I work with is I must genuinely love it in order to stand behind each project in an authentic way and this policy has served me and my clients well. Over the last 35 years I have developed strong relationships with a wide variety of media outlets across Canada and the world. They have come to know whoever I am working with is worthwhile and news worthy. My reputation is based on a strong work ethic and the trust that has been established that Melanie Kaye PR is not a “smoke and mirrors” business.

“Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” -Mark Twain

“Build a good name. Don’t make compromises, don’t worry about making a bunch of money or being successful. Be concerned about doing good work. Protect your work and if you build a good name, eventually that name will be its own currency. Life is like a roller coaster ride, it is never going to be perfect. It is going to have perfect moments and rough spots, but it’s all worth it.” -Patti Smith

These two quotes really resonate with me.

If you have a project you would like to discuss working on together please feel free to get in touch.

Cj Ramone has launched his new podcast “CJ Says: A Ramones Podcast,” with the first episode dropping today, April 23, titled “Ramones’ Side A Deep Dive.” As CJ puts it, “What better date to launch a Ramones-centric podcast than the 50th anniversary of their classic debut record?”

Joining him as co-host is longtime podcaster, producer, and former Kerrang! Radio presenter Matt Stocks. With CJ at the helm, the show promises a deep dive into the history and back catalogue of one of the most iconic punk bands.

Listeners can expect behind-the-scenes insights from someone who lived it both on and off stage. CJ Ramone was a key part of the band’s final and most prolific years, and each episode will explore a Ramones album in detail, packed with stories from dressing rooms, road trips, airports, recording sessions, and beyond, along with never-before-told stories and interviews with guests from music, film, and television.

In the debut episode, CJ and Matt break down the origins, themes, cultural impact, and stories behind the tracks on the Ramones’ debut album.

Next week’s episode will feature the first guest interview, with Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan.
