Rest in Peace Mr. D. He cast and directed me in The Apostle where I met and worked with Walton Goggins and the late great John Beasley. I was supposed to work one day. They kept me on for a month. He knew I wanted to direct so he'd let me watch playback at video village. My original character was Man Saying Amen. I originally had one line, check that, I actually had one word, "Amen". 90% of what I ended up saying in the movie was ad-libbed. Mr. D gave me a green light to say whatever I wanted in a movie that was his passion project that he personally financed. During post production left a wonderful message on my answering machine thanking me for my contribution to the film. I kept that cassette tape until Katrina washed it away. He was a extraordinary artist and an even better human being. 🙏🏾🌹🎬
