“ Me & Tori are 10 years apart from eachother… but now that she’s up & walking around just beautiful at 18 everyone is always asking us if we are twins 💜 if anyone ask me who’s strong… in my eye it’s Victoria. Since she was 4 years old & I’ve been having my seizure she has ALWAYS knew what to do.. how to hold my head. How to put me on my side .. just whatever there is to know!! Can you picture a 4 yr old… scared but brave …taking care of her sister…I thank god for my sister.”
💜 my siblings are strong too💜. - Terah LaShae

The award-winning film team behind BEING MICHELLE is currently seeking emergency funding for sudden filming needs based on the current health condition of film subject Terah Williams. This documentary, titled Seize the Day shows the effects of catastrophic epilepsy on this 23 year old Black woman who moved to Los Angeles for potential life-saving procedures. In the last months, Terah has experienced up to 25 seizures per day.

Neurologist Dr. Heck of USC has agreed to admit Terah to a special program, and USC has given permission to film this, which is rare. They, like us, see the importance of our film, so we need to move quickly to document this process.

Like many diseases, epilepsy affects Black people at a higher rate, and some of the drugs being used on BIPOC are causing physiological damage. This medical racism must be addressed.

We urgently need to raise $25,000 for this next crucial stage of filming to cover production costs including permits, insurance, and equipment rentals.

Won’t you please help us with any donation amount? All gifts are tax deductible through the 501(c)3 nonprofit Thriving Roots Initiative. We’re determined to seize this opportunity and make a difference. Donate link in comments.

It often feels like Epilepsy is a never ending fight and there is nothing we can do about it. I have often described seizures or my Intractable Epilepsy diagnosis as an obstacle to overcome on many different levels. While Epilepsy is an obstacle, the way we approach it can sometimes be a bigger one and inspire others going through similar fights.

The many people expressing their fight against epilepsy are the faces of the epilepsy warriors and the epilepsy fight💜 💜 💜
