Be In and Be Out…
What an inspiring journey it was to visit our supplier in the Czech Republic. We toured more than eight project installations spanning Rail & Infrastructure, Bus Shelters, School Campuses, Hospitality, and Community Design. Highlights included innovative ADUs and a SMART integrated solution for SUVs, station wagons, crossovers, vans, and campers—complete with cooking facilities, shower, refrigerator, and bed.

I also attended the annual event, welcoming over 1,000 visitors. Guests enjoyed live performances, mix & mingle with designers, architects, witnesses an impressive showcase of company expertise and projects, and a broader introduction to Czech design culture. Visitors were invited to camp on-site, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and genuine hospitality.

🏟️ Grateful to have joined yesterday’s event at the Titaan in The Hague, where I was invited to represent Newton Brown Urban Design and share our expertise on doing business in the USA — with a focus on Mobility, Infrastructure, and the development of Urban Cities in the lead-up to Los Angeles 2028.

Last weekend, David Sancious and his late mother, Stelma Sancious, were honored in Belmar, NJ for their lasting contributions to the community. Despite pop-up showers, the piano dedication ceremony at Pyanoe Plaza went ahead as planned on Saturday.

The event celebrated David Sancious—an original member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band—and his mother Stelma, a beloved educator. The Sancious family once lived at 1105 E Street, the very address that inspired the band’s iconic name.

David and his band performed on the all-weather Cadenza piano that we delivered last year. We’re proud to see this instrument embraced by the community, and thrilled to witness its positive impact. With 12 new Cadenza projects currently in the works across the U.S., we’re excited to continue spreading music and connection through these remarkable pianos. DM me for more information. This week, I had the privilege of speaking at de Carteret College in Mandeville, Jamaica, a vibrant institution supported by UNESCO. With over 1000 students, the institution hosted enlightening sessions focused on sustainability, transformation, and tradition.

During my presentation, I aimed to explore pathways towards progress by intertwining cultural roots with global environmental consciousness. At Newton Brown Urban Design, we embrace an inclusive approach in our various projects, emphasizing sustainability, circularity, impact, and the revitalization of public spaces.

I shared diverse examples to inspire the audience and encourage the development of more robust strategies for their academic pursuits and personal journeys. My heartfelt gratitude goes to the dedicated staff and leadership of de Carteret College, UNESCO, along with Mr. Bailey and Mrs. Plummer-Mitchell, for their invaluable guidance and warm hospitality. Together, we are shaping a brighter future.
