Boglands (originally titled Cra, meaning “Torment”) premieres tomorrow, May 26, on Acorn TV, kicking off with two episodes and new installments released weekly. Set in a remote village in northwest Ireland, the series begins when Garda Barry Roche uncovers a body in the bog. For Garda Conall Ó Súilleabháin, it’s deeply personal the remains belong to his mother, who disappeared 15 years ago. Forbidden from officially working the case, Conall teams up with a determined young podcaster, Ciara-Kate, to uncover the truth.

Bookish has been renewed for a second season ahead of its UK and US premieres. Created by Mark Gatiss (Sherlock, Doctor Who), the series is set in post-war London and follows Gabriel Book, a bookshop owner with a background in wartime espionage who now assists the police with unusual cases. Book, a gay man married to his longtime friend Trottie (Polly Walker), navigates a world where appearances are vital in an era when homosexuality remained illegal.

The cast also includes Elliot Levey, Buket Kömür, and Connor Finch, with a rotating lineup of guest stars across the first season. Season 1 is set to premiere in the UK on U&alibi in July 2025 and will air in the US as part of PBS’s 2025–2026 season.

PBS has announced that The Count of Monte Cristo will join their MASTERPIECE lineup in 2026.

Based on Alexandre Dumas’ classic novel, the series follows Edmond Dantès (Sam Claflin), a young sailor wrongfully imprisoned who escapes and returns under a new identity to exact justice on those who betrayed him. Directed by Bille August, the adaptation also stars Jeremy Irons and Ana Girardot.

Beyond Paradise is set to return as filming for Season 4 begins this July in Cornwall. The Death in Paradise spin-off continues to follow DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton) as they settle into life in the fictional Devon town of Shipton Abbott.

Filming locations have included Looe, which doubles for Shipton Abbott, as well as Saltash, Launceston, and Port Eliot House & Gardens in St Germans, capturing the series’ picturesque coastal charm.

Fans of The Great British Baking Show can now enjoy the classic seasons again, with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood judging under the iconic bunting-draped tent. The Roku Channel offers free, ad-supported streaming of the original BBC seasons 1–7 for U.S. viewers, featuring hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins.

In addition to the main series, The Roku Channel includes spin-offs such as The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, The Great British Baking Show: Juniors, and The Great British Baking Show: The Professionals. These additions are part of a deal with the U.K.’s Love Productions, bringing a wide variety of baking content to U.S. audiences.
