Our founder Yasmina F.Edwards looks back at her early days as a new entrepreneur when she launched her first venture, EGM NY a talent management agency. The experiences prepared her to lead YFE’s new chapter, the launch of the upcoming global campaign of the much anticipated novel of author, historian, and screenwriter Gabriel Souleyka, Voleurs d’Ames (My Soul is a Witness).

“Nine years ago, when I became a talent manager with only one signed client, I had to fight for my legitimacy every single day. The entertainment industry is a cliquish industry and it doesn’t matter what color you are. As a French immigrant woman, the jeopardy was double for me in Hollywood. I was a black woman with a French accent and the arrogance to pitch foreign stories and talents.

Not only did I have to fight bias with my peers, I also had to navigate a new world, a creative world where talents will drop you on a dime, where people will blacklist you simply for sharing your opinion. These past nine years, I have experienced extreme highs and painful lows - naysayers, backstabbing, money lost that helped prepare me for the new chapter I am embarking on.

As I focus on work, on the WHY of what I do, I am able to advance toward my goal to tell stories that elevate our heroes to their rightful places in history. That is the reason I am still standing.

“My Soul is a Witness" (Voleurs d’Ames) is one of these stories, a little-known and never told story of black prisoners at the infamous Auschwitz death camp, the story of the oldest mosque in France, the Grand Mosque of Paris, where jewish were sheltered during WWII.

I am eternally grateful to Gabriel Souleyka for choosing Yfe agency to lead the global marketing campaign for the book and for choosing me as a producer for the film with our new production company Tiolejafilms

 We are thrilled to announce that Author, Screenwriter, and  Director Gabriel Souleyka has signed with EGMNY  for management.

In 2020, Gabriel published his first historical novel, Le Cri de l’Innocence, based on the life of Solitude, an enslaved woman in Guadeloupe, hanged by the French, 24 hours after giving birth to her son.
He recently finished his second historical novel, Voleur d’âmes, based on the lives of a young Senegalese couple who found themselves in Auschwitz during WWII.
