A lot of people aren’t quite sure what a legacy film is… until they see one.

At its core, it’s about sitting down, having real conversations, and capturing the stories that shape a life… in a way your family can come back to.

Because the truth is, life moves quickly.
 And the stories we think we’ll always remember… are often the ones that fade.

I came across this while going through some old videos and it brought me right back.

I had just picked up a new camera and went down to downtown to test it out. I ended up capturing these quiet, beautiful moments around a neighborhood I’ve always loved.

This was toward the end of the pandemic, when things had already reopened and were starting to feel “normal” again, whatever that even meant… and it turned into a small thank you to the local businesses who stayed open and showed up for all of us.

Still just as grateful for them today… along with the new small businesses that continue to shape this great town.

A few more weeks until Mother’s Day 🤍

And it’s moments like this that remind me what that day is really about.

This clip is from a recent legacy film… a family remembering the moms who helped shape the man they love. A mother who worked all day and all night to take care of her family. An aunt who stepped in and raised a child as her own. Not perfect, but steady, selfless, and deeply loved.

To all the moms, the mother figures, the women who held everything together in ways big and small… thank you. 🤍

Most people don’t reach out right away.
They think about it for a while.

They wonder if they’ll know what to say.
If they have enough photos.
If it will feel awkward.
If now is the right time.

All of it is completely normal. 🩷

This process is meant to feel easy.
Like sitting down and talking… and letting the stories unfold from there.

And what comes out of it becomes something your family can return to, again and again.
