THIS WEEK AT OFX: the summer ends and Halloween begins 😈

On Friday 10/2 at 8PM, wampusreynolds and Caleb Collins present a night of comedy with BINOMIAL EXPRESSION.

Next, on Saturday 10/3 at 7PM, Comfort Zone returns with the comfiest pick of all: THE DESCENT (2003). Because there is simply nothing more comforting than women covered in blood. ❤️

On Sunday 10/4 at 6PM, we partner with Oklahoma Library Association for Banned Book Week 2026 with THE LIBRARIANS (2025), a documentary following librarians in the southern US as they try to fight book banning across the country. Proceeds from admission will go to Oklahoma Library Association’s scholarship and charity funding 🙂‍↕️

Finally on 10/5 at 7PM, we celebrate beloved OFX partner Hannah’s birthday with a MYSTERY SCREENING of one of their favorite films of all-time. It’s gory! It’s gross! It’s great! Everyone’s invited to enjoy some brains—I mean, movies…

THIS WEEK AT OFX: CRANK IT (yes I know this is not crank it but we have limited access to licensed music ok)

Tomorrow 9/23 at 7PM, Garage Trash Productions presents “VIDEOS” by —————-, an exhibition of experimental videos you will be able to view in 3D (!!!!)

On Thursday 9/24 at 7PM, Sean hosts a 20th anniversary screening of CRANK (2006), a quiet, contemplative, introspective film about what a man must do in the face of death.

9/25 is West Village OKC Fourth Fridays, a chance to check out some activities on Lee and Sheridan, as well as a time to chill at OFX!

On 9/27, Galvorn Dagger presents Tales from the Past: EERIE TALES (1919), a terrifying anthology of stories that are sure to make your skin crawl when accompanied by the Count’s chilling cacophony. The Frightful Femme returns as host to guide you through these tales of woe.

On 9/28, we have our bimonthly Variety Open Mic with sign-ups starting at 6:30 and performances at 7.

Finally, on 9/30 at 7PM, it’s September’s Q***r Film Club: WEEKEND (2011), one of host James Cooper’s very favorites. We’ll be joined by Laron Chapman to discuss this modern piece of q***r cinema.

ON THE NEXT Q***R FILM CLUB AT OFX: James Cooper presents WEEKEND (2011), a film by Andrew Haigh, which follows two men who begin a sexual relationship the weekend before one of them moves overseas.

The film’s portrayal of q***r sexual relationships was *so* “indecent” and “unusable” it was banned in over 1000 Catholic Church-owned theaters in Italy. OFX welcomes all indecent folks, so come join the club and have a good cry with us.

James will be joined by Laron Chapman, another noted lover of this film. Pay-what-you-can, and we’ll see you at this month’s QFC on 9/30 at 7PM!

THIS WEEK AT OFX: two collaborations, a birthday screening, and a hard boiled detective!

Tomorrow on 9/16 at 7PM, Translated Fiction Book Club presents THE PIANO TEACHER (2001) as their club finishes the original novel. Everyone is welcome, whether you’ve read the novel or not!

Next up on 9/19 at 7PM, it’s Keegan Parrish’s birthday screening and you’re all invited! He’s showing us CLOVERFIELD (2008), a found footage extraterrestrial thriller 👀

On Sunday 9/20 at 6PM, THE HUMAN LENS and deadCenter Continuum team up to present HARLAN COUNTY USA (1976), a special 50th anniversary screening with Sisters of Cinema Film Club and Women in Film. Admission is FREE (!!) as part of deadCenter Continuum’s programming and grants from Allied Arts.

Finally we close out our programming week on 9/21 at 7PM with our ongoing martial arts cinema series Fists, Flips, & Falls: HARD BOILED (1992), John Woo’s last Hong Kong film before taking on Hollywood.

NEXT SUNDAY AT OFX: THE HUMAN LENS presents a FREE (!!!) 50th anniversary screening of Barbara Kopple’s groundbreaking documentary HARLAN COUNTY USA (1976). As Kopple and her crew immerse themselves in the coal mining community of small town Kentucky, they provide a raw and resolute look into miners’ labor rights, their violent struggles, and the groups that mobilized into action to protect their community.

We have the honor of co-presenting this film with deadCenter Continuum, a year-round programming series aimed at connecting deadCenter to diverse communities across Oklahoma while focusing on inclusive programming. We’ll be joined by Sisters of Cinema Film Club and Women in Film to discuss the role of women in cinematic storytelling and the film industry as well!

This month’s exclusive poster is designed by Zachary Gilbert // BROKE BUT OK and limited edition prints will be available at the screening for $30. All profit goes back to our artist!

We’d love to see you pack our house like last month and show up in solidarity for our worker communities in every industry, from small town communities to big cities. Did we mention this screening is FREE? deadCenter Continuum free events are open to the public and would not be possible without the generous grants provided by Allied Arts.

THIS WEEK AT OFX: We’re kicking off September with two masterclasses of arthouse cinema, a beloved cult film, and our first WOEFF work-in-progress screening for experimental filmmakers.

On Saturday 9/5, Raygun presents our very first Almodóvar at OFX: TIE ME UP! TIE ME DOWN! (1990) which has the honor of being partially responsible for creating the NC-17 rating in the US.

Then on Sunday 9/6 at 5pm, we show you INLAND EMPIRE (2006) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its world premiere at Venice. Not much to say about this except, for your consideration: LAURA DERN.

Next up on Labor Day, 9/7, at 2pm, come watch CLERKS (1994) and release any frustrations you may have about your sh*tty service job.

Finally on Tuesday 9/8 at 7PM, Wide Open Exp. Film Festival hosts it’s very first “Work-in-Progress” screening, open to filmmakers and the public, to watch unfinished experimental films and provide feedback to the filmmaker. All are welcome!

Our monthly reveal may be a couple days late but we were so busy planning SEPTEMBER AT OFX!!

We have nothing but arthouse heaters like TIE ME UP! TIE ME DOWN!, INLAND EMPIRE, and THE PIANO TEACHER. We have non-stop action like HARD BOILED and CRANK. We have great collaborations with OCU Film & Literature, Wide Open Exp. Film Festival, OK👌Anime Club, Translated Fiction Book Club, THE HUMAN LENS, —————-, Galvorn Dagger, and James Cooper allllllll through the month. We’ll also be celebrating our dear friend and OFX partner Keegan Parrish’s birthday with a public birthday movie CLOVERFIELD!!!!

THIS WEEK AT OFX: gay cheerleaders, dinosaurs, and teen comedy Shakespeare adaptations!

Tomorrow at 7PM, join us for our third Q***r Film Club: BUT I’M A CHEERLEADER (1999) with James Cooper and d**e club! You’ll want to get here early for this one 🫣

On Thursday at 7PM, we have Art Don't Beg, a comedy show with Rob Sturma and Jack Tapestry, with plenty of other guests.

On Friday it’s the West Village Fourth Friday, so come hang with us and enjoy our AC 🫶

Then, on Saturday, join us for a celebration of Sam Neill with JURASSIC PARK (1993). It’s good, guys. We don’t have to tell y’all that.

On Sunday, Raygun Busch returns from tour for FRESH (1994), about a kid named Fresh who seeks to escape running drugs through chess.

Finally, to close out August, we have 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU (1999), a classic Shakespearean adaptation with two of the hottest lead actors to ever grace our screens. It’s also the introduction of our new programming series “Comfort Zone,” dedicated to the films you want to rewatch again and again.
