THIS WEEK AT OFX: We’re kicking off September with two masterclasses of arthouse cinema, a beloved cult film, and our first WOEFF work-in-progress screening for experimental filmmakers.

On Saturday 9/5, Raygun presents our very first Almodóvar at OFX: TIE ME UP! TIE ME DOWN! (1990) which has the honor of being partially responsible for creating the NC-17 rating in the US.

Then on Sunday 9/6 at 5pm, we show you INLAND EMPIRE (2006) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its world premiere at Venice. Not much to say about this except, for your consideration: LAURA DERN.

Next up on Labor Day, 9/7, at 2pm, come watch CLERKS (1994) and release any frustrations you may have about your sh*tty service job.

Finally on Tuesday 9/8 at 7PM, Wide Open Exp. Film Festival hosts it’s very first “Work-in-Progress” screening, open to filmmakers and the public, to watch unfinished experimental films and provide feedback to the filmmaker. All are welcome!

Our monthly reveal may be a couple days late but we were so busy planning SEPTEMBER AT OFX!!

We have nothing but arthouse heaters like TIE ME UP! TIE ME DOWN!, INLAND EMPIRE, and THE PIANO TEACHER. We have non-stop action like HARD BOILED and CRANK. We have great collaborations with OCU Film & Literature, Wide Open Exp. Film Festival, OK👌Anime Club, Translated Fiction Book Club, THE HUMAN LENS, —————-, Galvorn Dagger, and James Cooper allllllll through the month. We’ll also be celebrating our dear friend and OFX partner Keegan Parrish’s birthday with a public birthday movie CLOVERFIELD!!!!

THIS WEEK AT OFX: gay cheerleaders, dinosaurs, and teen comedy Shakespeare adaptations!

Tomorrow at 7PM, join us for our third Q***r Film Club: BUT I’M A CHEERLEADER (1999) with James Cooper and d**e club! You’ll want to get here early for this one 🫣

On Thursday at 7PM, we have Art Don't Beg, a comedy show with Rob Sturma and Jack Tapestry, with plenty of other guests.

On Friday it’s the West Village Fourth Friday, so come hang with us and enjoy our AC 🫶

Then, on Saturday, join us for a celebration of Sam Neill with JURASSIC PARK (1993). It’s good, guys. We don’t have to tell y’all that.

On Sunday, Raygun Busch returns from tour for FRESH (1994), about a kid named Fresh who seeks to escape running drugs through chess.

Finally, to close out August, we have 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU (1999), a classic Shakespearean adaptation with two of the hottest lead actors to ever grace our screens. It’s also the introduction of our new programming series “Comfort Zone,” dedicated to the films you want to rewatch again and again.

This Sunday 8/9 at 6PM, OFX and THE HUMAN LENS invite you to GREY GARDENS (1975), the groundbreaking documentary following the lives of “Big” and “Little” Edie Beale, a mother-daughter duo living in isolation in their once-grand, now-dilapidated New York manor. This film garnered acclaim for its two eccentric subjects and their philosophies on life, as well as controversy for the evergreen ethical debate of documentary filmmaking of exploitation, empathy, and compensation.

Pay what you can, as always, and exclusive posters by Abbie Sears (Abbie Sears) will be available for purchase starting Sunday. We’ll see you there!

It has officially been ONE WHOLE YEAR of OKLAHOMA FILM EXCHANGE!!!! August 1, 2025 was the first official day of programming as OFX. Contrary to popular belief, OFX is not the building, or even the screening room—it’s the people who created it and run it day-to-day. *YOU* are also OFX, the community who supports it, sustains it, and interacts with it. OFX would be here without our beloved historic screening room, but we wouldn’t be here without you. 🫶 Because we are overwhelmed with love and pride, we asked the OFX partners to reflect on the past year—their favorite memories, what they’ve learned, and anything else they’d like to tell you.

Thank you to everyone who helped in our original campaign, thank you to Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition for sponsoring us, and thank you to West Village OKC for all of the neighborhood support. Thank you to our neighbors, The Study, Core4 Brewing, and OK C***r Co for making us feel welcome at the Paramount. Thank you to the rest of the community groups and businesses that supported us, but specific shoutout to The Floating Bookshop | Downtown Oklahoma City and New World Comics for being on our side since Day 1.

And finally, thank you to each and every one of you who fill our seats each week. Come hang out with us this weekend for all sorts of fun and celebration. This is as much a celebration for you all as it is for us. Thank you for one year, and here’s to 100 more!!! 🎉❤️

On July 30, celebrate Art House Theater Day with a 50th anniversary restoration of NETWORK (1976), Sidney Lumet and Paddy Chayefsky's searing satire of American news media and our corporate overlords. When longtime news anchor Howard Beale has a psychotic break on live TV, the network exploits Beale's ranting and raving to boost their dwindling ratings.

We chose NETWORK to celebrate Art House Theater Day because 1. it rocks and is a big favorite among a few OFX partners and 2. as a cautionary tale of isolation and sensationalist media preying on our need to be seen and heard, it's important to us to connect our community in ways that matter. While it might be silly to think of an arthouse theater as one of the last few beacons of community spaces, what other type of place can make you put down your phone for a few hours, experience art, and engage with the people around you? This is what matters most to us at OFX and why we fight so hard to keep it alive.

We hope you'll join us on July 30 at 7PM to celebrate art house theaters and watch one of the finest films of the 20th century. Pay what you can, and we'll see you there!

THIS WEEK AT OFX: Robocop at 8PM finale, a crime shorts block, and going to hell with Count Galvorn!

At 8PM this Thursday, join OFX partner Sean Peel for the grand finale of his Robocop at 8PM on a Thursday series, this time with a mysterious Lady Robocop! If you come you just might see and/or win something special...

On Friday, come hang out with us if you need a cool down from all the Fourth Friday festivities out at .

On Saturday, OFX partner Justin Jayne hosts Your Money or Your Life, a curation of five crime short films from all over the country, plus a filmmaker Q&A.

If Christopher Nolan made you want to go on more odysseys, join our journey into L'INFERNO (1911) on Sunday with Frightful Femme and , who are like our very own Dante and Virgil.

Finally, close out the month with our Variety Open Mic, always on the 2nd and 4th Mondays. You can check out the dates for the next couple months, so be sure to put them in your calendar. And if you're ever interested in hosting, well... DM us👀 (Note that there is only one Open Mic in August due to a special event that will be announced soon!)

On Saturday July 25th, you'll have to decide on YOUR MONEY OR YOUR LIFE: a crime short film block curated by OFX partner Justin Jayne!

At 7PM, you can see a program of five independent shorts from not just Oklahoma, but California and Mexico, too. Several filmmakers will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A, so come to the screening with your eyes and ears open, and don't let yourself get attached to any snacks you can't walk out on in thirty seconds flat when you feel the heat around the corner.
