Hi, all. Radio Tribe Productions is casting for a short film. The story (Shayla) is about a 14-year-old African American girl navigating the challenges of middle school while discovering her inner strength and unique abilities.

There are four speaking (paid) roles, and in-person auditions begin this Sunday, the 14th, at Unexpected Productions' rehearsal spaces. Digital auditions are also accepted. Details are below.

Project Description:
"Shayla" is an independent film about a 14-year-old African American girl navigating the challenges of middle school while discovering her inner strength and unique abilities.

Character Breakdown:

• Shayla Cambray: Female, African American, 14. A resilient and introspective girl who stands up against bullying.

• Madison Gold: Female, 14. Shayla's primary antagonist is a popular girl with a mean streak.

• Kaitlin Logan: Female, 14. One of Madison's best friends often follows Madison's lead.

• Brittany Roy: Female, 14. Another of Madison's best friends is equally involved in the bullying.

• Floyd Hardy (Papa): Male, 72. Shayla's supportive grandfather.

• Principal Thomas: Male, 54. The middle school principal is often dismissive of Shayla's complaints.

• Caroline Meyers-Gold: A 38-year-old female, Madison's mother, a fitness model and influencer who is demanding and image-conscious.
