It's been a while since I posted here. Life, work, 501st, and just weather has slowed things down pretty good. But, change is in the wind with the Fall coming. Hoping for some PLENTY of time to clear some projects off the ol' workbench now.

This prop came as a white resin cane with a orange tinted clear amber egg topper containing a real Canefly inside. This was one of the type of insects used in the movie. I sanded down the seam line, added extra detail to the "bones", painted, brown wash, and lastly assembled.

Finished prop head of the Acorna alien from Star Wars A New Hope. Head is a latex rubber that was a fan sculpt from Spain. Flashing was cut off and trimmed down first. Head was air brushed by Zach Winnermark and eyes were made of sintra sprayed with green and gold glitter spray paint to replicate the original prop that just had green and gold glitter glued to plastic.

Spent last night trying to figure out how to get this Arc Reactor to glow...well success! Thanks to my good friend Paul Cassidy, he was able to help wire up the 11 LEDs in one circuit! This was just a test lighting and now to finish the reactor and complete the wiring for the power source.

Finished painting up the Fett insignia with DupliColor and it's all ready for a new bucket...question is what bucket would match this stand?

Sometimes the simplest of materials offers the best results. Cut out the aliens solid rubber eyes with an exacto knife and cut out the coke bottle replacement lenses. ;). Now to dance with the devil and use glitter. This is going to get messy......

Starting the year off right and getting back to what I love....cantina aliens! Here is a little hint of a project long in the making with a great sculptor from Spain. This project was inspired by some pretty impressive future plans. Who knows where this prop will be POPING up. However this weekend I am dusting the resin off myself and attending a Black Tie New Years Party in Pensacola so this will have to wait till next weekend for some skin color ;)

New Year = New Props and Costumes! So in order to encourage propwork, Casa de Fett is getting a bit of a face lift! This is the back patio as it sits today where I do most of my work. Soon this will be redone to a more relaxing setting where many of good times will be had and props built! Oh and not to mention food grilled ;)
