Eigakan is a film showing event hosted by the UP Japanology Society that features Japanese films that can be useful in different fields of study. Moreover, this events aims to promote and to proliferate the interest of the people in the study of Japanese culture. This September 5, 2012, Eigakan will be presenting a documentary entitled Can You See Our Lights?: The First Festival After The Tsunami

. This 48-minute documentary shows how the people of Rikuzentakata, Minami Soma, and other cities proceed with their festivals amidst the damage that the tsunami caused. Mark your calendars as Eigakan 2012 is about to launch!
