A DEEP VALLEY SONG!!!
From the writer Aditya Dhar and co-writer Aditya Jhamale (Previously gave us Article 370) who is also the director of this excellent flick comes a brilliant movie to come out based on Kashir. Probably the best film ever based on Kashmir without going over the top and still conveying all the problems and experiences of the people of Kashmir. These types of movies should be celebrated and shouldn't go unnoticed. Kudos to Netflix for bringing such content to everyone instead of releasing in theatres otherwise it would been dismissed simply by saying propaganda film but that's not the case here. A must watch for every Indian!!
The seamless blend of Supernatural elements and a hard hitting thriller goes very smoothly and never feels forced or out of place. If these kinds of topic should be touched upon (Will not spoil anything here), they must be made with nuances and tenderness which this movie definitely swells upon.
The performances all around great and the cinematography and the art design of this film is so unique and constructive that it just deminishes if/any weakness that resides with it.
The awesome BGM which is both eearie and pensive at the same time demands some respect. The constant parallels shown in this movie reminded me of the The boy in striped pyjamas which in itself was a very unique and a cult classic of it's genre. Now we can also proudly say that we have our own masterpiece although not many would agree with me on this but mind you this is how a thriller horror mystry movie should be made without giving anything away and bringing out all the underlying themes involved here with such ease.
I have never got so emotional after watching a film than this one especially for what it brings out in you as a viewer (a soft cry on the inside and like you are suffocating along with the characters involved).
The movies like this should be celebrated for the technical aspects and prowess it has shown which we rarely see come out of Bollywood and the bold choices the movie makes makes you question about the kind of content you really deserve than what you get.
VERDICT: 4.5/5
OTT: NETFLIX
