Puma Matriarchs is still in the middle of the “film festival” circuit. We have entered the film in several festivals that require that entries NOT be publicly available (e.g., on YouTube) in order to qualify for acceptance to the festival. The festivals want to host a “premiere” of as many films as possible at their events, so for example our screening of Puma Matriarchs at the Wyoming International Film Festival was the “Wyoming Premiere” of the film. Anyway once we get through the festivals with “premiere requirements” (or we get rejected by them) we will release the film on our YouTube channel.

Just got home from Cheyenne, Wyoming for the Wyoming International Film Festival - what a fantastic experience! Amazing organization, top-notch facilities, a super selection of films and most importantly a solid, outgoing and friendly team of staff, volunteers, fellow independent filmmakers and board members made this festival unforgettable for us.

Our short film “Puma Matriarchs of Torres Del Paine” screened at the festival. In addition, Puma Matriarchs was nominated for “Best Documentary - Short”! We didn’t win the award but were thrilled to be among the five films nominated.

Thank you to the WYOIFF team, our fellow independent filmmakers and the Cheyenne community for making us feel at home and contributing to our filmmaking journey!

“Puma Matriarchs of Torres Del Paine“

Film bio: The film chronicles the lives of three mother Pumas (aka Mountain Lions, Cougars) as they survive and thrive in the rugged terrain of Chilean Patagonia. These three matriarchs, Sarmiento, Rupestra and Petaca, drive the dynamics of living and dominating their respective territories. Raising their kits, teaching them how to catch prey and hunting that prey increase these cats’ chances of surviving in this beautiful but challenging habitat.

So far we’ve selected films about Wolves and bears in a hot tub! Now we’ve selected a film about Pumas ! This film festival is about to get WILD!
