Zum ersten Mal verlagert das IFFI seine Festivalnacht aus dem Kino hinaus in die Stadt: Gemeinsam mit dem Montagu laden wir zur IFFI-Party X Montagu Bed & Beers

📍 3. Juni, Montagu, Höttingergasse 7–9
🕙 ab 22:00 Uhr
✨ Feiertag am nächsten Tag inklusive

Live zu Gast ist das Musikkollektiv FORRÓNEROS, das sich musikalisch zwischen Cumbia und Forró bewegt. Danach folgt ein DJ-Set des anwesenden Filmemachers Hugo Salvaterra.

Eintritt: 10 Euro. Mit IFFI-Festivalpass ist der Eintritt frei.

Bereits ab 19:00 Uhr gibt es im Vorfeld einen SOLI-MAMPF gegen freiwillige Spende, dessen Einnahmen direkt an die SEA PUNKS gehen.

For the first time, IFFI is moving its festival night out of the cinema and into the city: together with Montagu, we invite you to the IFFI Party x MONTAGU.

Live guests include the music collective FORRÓNEROS, whose sound ranges from cumbia to forró. This will be followed by a DJ set from filmmaker Hugo Salvaterra, who will be in attendance.

Admission: 10 euros. Admission is free with an IFFI festival pass.

From 7 pm onwards, there will be a pre-event SOLI-MAMPF for a voluntary donation, with all proceeds going directly to the SEA PUNKS.

Eine Familie reist mit unbekannter Mission durch die wechselnden Landschaften des Iran Richtung Grenze. Zwischen heimlichen Telefonaten, striktem Handyverbot und liebevoll-sarkastischem Familienchaos erzählt Panah Panahi in seinem Spielfilmdebüt visuell eindrucksvoll vom schwierigen Schicksal vieler seiner Landsleute – und überrascht dabei immer wieder mit feinem Humor.

🪑 Bring gerne eine Decke oder Sitzgelegenheit mit oder mach es dir in unseren Liegestühlen bequem.

🍹 Für erfrischende Drinks sorgt das Café Kreid.

The film being shown is JADDEH KHAKI (HIT THE ROAD) by Panah Panahi.
A family travels through the ever-changing landscapes of Iran toward the border on a mission whose nature remains unknown. Amid secret phone calls, a strict ban on cell phones, and affectionately sarcastic family chaos, Panah Panahi’s feature film debut offers a visually striking portrayal of the difficult fate faced by many of his compatriots—all while repeatedly surprising the audience with subtle humor.

🪑 Feel free to bring a blanket or something to sit on, or make yourself comfortable in our lounge chairs.

🍹 Café Kreid will be serving refreshing drinks.

Der diesjährige Fokus des IFFI ist dem Filmemacher Lemohang Mosese aus Lesotho gewidmet, der derzeit in Berlin lebt. In seinen Filmen beschäftigt er sich mit Fragen von Heimat, Exil, Erinnerung und Zugehörigkeit. Seine Arbeiten bewegen sich zwischen Essay, Fiktion und Poesie und erzählen von Menschen, die zwischen Orten, Zeiten und Identitäten leben.

Ausgangspunkt ist die ehemalige Forschungsstation Yangambi, wo zwischen 1937 und 1958 das Wachstum und „Verhalten“ von Bäumen dokumentiert wurde. Zwischen Archiv, Gegenwart und spekulativer Perspektive entstehen Fragen zu Wissen, Natur und Ausbeutung.

Los geht’s! 🎬 Von 2. bis 7. Juni ist es wieder so weit: Beim IFFI erwarten euch rund 70 ausgewählte Filme aus aller Welt im Cinematograph•Leokino

Unser Programm ist ab sofort online – schaut auf unserer Website vorbei (Link in Bio) und verschafft euch einen ersten Überblick.

Alle Filme sind ab 15. Mai reservierbar – und können heuer auch erstmals ganz bequem online gebucht werden. Ihr könnt eure Tickets also vorab sichern und müsst nicht mehr an der Kinokassa anstehen.

Auch abseits der Leinwand wird’s lebendig: Publikumsgespräche, internationale Gäste und besondere Events prägen das Festival. Mit dabei sind u. a. ein Konzert der sudanesischen Musikerin Hiba Elgizouli sowie die IFFI-Party x Montagu Bed & Beers mit Forróneros (Cumbia meets Forró) und einem DJ-Set von Filmemacher Hugo Salvaterra.

In den nächsten Wochen nehmen wir euch außerdem mit durch unser Programm und stellen ausgewählte Filme in thematischen Schwerpunkten vor.

Here we go! 🎬 From June 2 to 7, it’s that time again: IFFI returns to Cinematograph•Leokino with around 70 carefully selected films from all over the world.

Our full programme is now online – check out our website (link in bio) and get your first overview.

All films can be reserved from May 15 – and for the first time, tickets can also be booked online.

Beyond the screenings, the festival comes alive with Q&As, international guests and special events. Highlights include a concert by Sudanese musician Hiba Elgizouli, the IFFI Party x Montagu Bed & Beers with Forróneros (blending Cumbia and Forró), and a DJ set by filmmaker Hugo Salvaterra.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll also introduce selected films grouped into thematic sections to help you dive deeper into the programme.

Ab sofort können Kurzfilme mit Tirol-Bezug für das IFFI 2026 eingereicht werden. Ob Fiction, Dokumentation, Animation, Experimental oder Musikvideo – wir freuen uns auf vielfältige Arbeiten von Tiroler Filmschaffenden sowie Produktionen mit thematischer, biografischer oder struktureller Verbindung zu Tirol.
