Australia Welcome to the Rotary Club of Kangaroo Flat.

Set in the parklands of Gateway Park, the Function Centre is the home of the Rotary Club of Kangaroo Flat. Our Club was established in May 1983, chartered by the Rotary Club of Bendigo South. Our Club is vibrant and enthusiastic with a commitment to community, national and international projects. Our major fundraising events include the annual Easter Hole in One competition, Ride for Kids, and Ben

digo Swap Meet where all members are actively involved. We support the Autism Walk and other local community events. Other fundraising events include BBQ's and Movie nights. The function centre and carpark also raise funds for Rotary through hire. Please check our calendar for any changes to the venue or night. We enjoy nights away from the Club supporting local restaurants & venues, and other local Rotary clubs and our self catered nights where we welcome friends and work mates to come and take a look at our Club. Our meetings are held at the Club's function centre in High Street Kangaroo Flat opposite the Apco Service Station. We welcome all new and prospective members - come along to a meeting and see how you can contribute to our wonderful programs and find out what you can do for Rotary.

Today is R U OK? Day...

The R U OK? ‘Your natter matters’ campaign encourages Australians aged 65+ to connect and have regular meaningful conversations to support those around them who might be struggling with life.

There are a few things you can do to support older people in our community:

Volunteer some time to be a Volunteer visitor, there are plenty of community members over 65 who are lonely and isolated and could do with a regular chat. Google Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Service (ACVVS) for more information

Check in with your neighbor: use the R U OK? ALEC model... Ask, Listen, Encourage Action, Check In..

Today is Fathers Day....
Today we say thank you to all the Fathers, Grandfathers, Stepfathers, Father figures and Guardians who love and care for us.
Some of us will say thank you by spending quality time with family, with shared meals like a big breakfast, a laid-back brunch, or a classic backyard barbecue.
Maybe we are honoring our dads, such as stepfathers, grandfathers, foster carers, and mentors, with handmade cards, hugs and special gifts...
Others will be reaching out to dads through phone calls, video calls, or heartfelt messages, particularly when dads live far away.

However you are celebrating, we wish all Dads, stepdads, grandfathers and father figures in your life, Happy Fathers Day

Today is National Wattle day...

Golden Wattle is Australia's National Floral Emblem.
It signifies the return of Spring and is one of the first plants to regenerate after fire, reminding us of the resilient nature of our country.

Golden Wattle has been our National Floral emblem since 1988, and National Wattle day on September 1st each year was first proclaimed by Governor General Bill Hayden, in 1992.

It also reminds us, that no matter how much Winter is still hanging around, Spring weather is not far behind....

We have Wattle trees dotted all around Rotary Gateway Park, so if you are enjoying your first Spring walk around the lake, post a photo of the Wattles you see, we would love to see them!

This is Charlie.
Charlie is the Kangaroo Flat Rotary Clubs Youth Service Director.
Charlie is also a Past President of the Club.
Charlie rides motorbikes, and has been known to organise more than a few bike rides to support local kids charities.
Charlie has also been known to pillion a certain rotund, bearded man dressed in red and white around at Christmas (that may just be a rumor I started though...)
Charlie combines his passions of community service and riding bikes as a member of the Kangaroo Flat Rotary Club
