We aspire to be a beacon of hope, selecting films that inspire and foster a sense of purpose and belonging. We dream of a world where every frame we share contributes to a vibrant, meaningful tapestry of life. We love great entertainment ... but not nearly as much as we love to ignite your spirit through beautiful stories.

Who do you picture watching your film?

It’s tempting to say “everyone”. You’ve put so much into it, and you want it to travel as far as it can.

But start closer. Think of the person who’ll recognise something of themselves in your story. The friend they’ll tell afterwards. The places they already go to discover something new.

Knowing your audience helps you find the words, moments and spaces that give your film a chance to connect.

Who would you want sitting in the front row?

There’s something fascinating about Eric Bana’s performances. Even when a character is difficult to like, he gives us a reason to keep looking. A flicker of doubt. A little tenderness. Something human beneath the armour.

Swipe through five performances that stayed with us long after the screen went dark.

A two-minute scene might take days to get right. 🎬

Editing means working through the footage, choosing performances and shaping the rhythm of a story. Sometimes moving a shot or holding a moment a little longer changes how the whole scene feels.

Then comes feedback, another cut, and more fine-tuning.

How long does editing take? Days, weeks or months it depends on the project. A shorter film doesn’t always mean a shorter edit.

For students, the takeaway is wonderfully practical: a film doesn’t have to be perfect before it can be shared. Give them a small brief, a deadline and an audience. Then let them make the next one.

Film teachers: How do you help students get past the pressure to make their first attempt perfect?

You can quote The Castle all day. But the reason we keep coming back to it goes beyond the one-liners.

The Kerrigans’ fight feels enormous because their home means everything to them. The film lets us laugh with this family while taking what they love seriously.

That mix of humour and heart is hard to forget.
