The Australian Red Cross has created Red25 – a blood donating initiative – aimed at securing 25% of necessary blood supply via group donations. The Swinburne Vampire Club blood donors are encouraged to register in one of the Swinburne Red25 groups. Every year a tertiary competition is held between blood donor groups in the higher education sector. Earlier in 2018, Swinburne was ranked 39 out of 71
universities. In the 2019 competition the goal is to reach a higher ranking. Actions for the upcoming 12 months:
Club members will capture Swinburne 's interest in blood donation - 1000 interest required- and get a mobile donor van on campus for next Orientation week. The club will organise the Swinburne Vampire Cup- competition in between Swinburne subgroups to raise the number of blood donation. Clubs members will work on extending collaboration with the Australian Red Cross- e.g. volunteers in administration, catering in donor centres and reporting/analysis
