A Reader's Heaven

🎄📚 Let's Get Some Books Under Those Christmas Trees! 📚🎄

Christmas is creeping up on us again (didn't we just do this?), and once again, A Reader's Heaven is teaming up with Nanna's Touch Community Connections Lithgow Inc. to help bring a little extra joy to local kids this Christmas.

We're collecting books in good condition for children from newborns to 12 years old to go along with the Christmas gifts distributed by Nanna's Touch.

Got some children's books gathering dust? We'd love to give them a new home. Just make sure they're in good condition - Santa has standards, you know! 🎅

You can drop donations off at A Reader's Heaven or Nanna's Touch.

If you'd like to know more, pop into the shop for a chat. We might even talk about books!

Thanks, as always, for supporting this wonderful local cause. Let's put a few more books into little hands this Christmas. ❤️

It makes us very happy to see that PCYC Lithgow will be restarting the Community Closet very soon.
A much-needed resource for our community will be back up and operating very soon!

Well done, Chris & team!

We are excited to announce that we are launching our Community Closet back up within the PCYC. 🎉
Lithgow LGA residents have been asking for the return of this great initiative and we have been supported by a member of the community in a donation which we have put towards the purchase of 14 wardrobes to kit out one of our rooms at the club.
We will be continuing on the price of $2.00 per clothing item and will be launching this on the 2nd of November.
Watch this space for progress updates as we get back up and running.
Thank you to the community member for their donation and support of this program.

Dropped in for a bookseller chat with the owner, TJ, as well as his new puppetry hobby...

If you are passing through, drop in. Around 40 thousand books in store - so you are sure to find something amazing!!

(Forgot to grab a photo with TJ - went back and got pics of the outside of the shop.)

For me, it will be Pet Sematary by Stephen King.

What book are you bringing?

This was a nice little arrival this morning.
Only 5500 of these were produced eighty years ago. The "true first editions" were printed for the British Soldiers in the Rhine and contain dozens of maps and illustrations.

Recent stock moves have had an unintended consequence for us.

Crime Fiction is now in the same space as True Crime.

Which means this particular aisle contains an unusually high concentration of murder, robbery, detectives, serial killers and people making exceptionally poor life choices.

We’ve been calling it The Crime Corridor.

It’s not bad.

But before the name becomes permanent, we’re opening the floor to suggestions.

Can anyone come up with something better?

Alliteration encouraged. Terrible puns will also be considered.
