Today, on National Sorry Day, we acknowledge the strength and resilience of the Stolen Generations, and reflect on the lasting impacts of Australia’s history for First Nations peoples and communities.

As we move into National Reconciliation Week tomorrow, this year’s theme, All In, reminds us that reconciliation requires ongoing commitment from all of us, through listening, learning, truth-telling and meaningful action.

The arts have always created space for stories that challenge, connect and inspire. They help us deepen understanding, share experiences and imagine more inclusive futures together.

As an arts community, being all in means continuing to support First Nations voices, creativity and leadership, while reflecting on our shared histories and the role we each play in reconciliation.

Because reconciliation isn’t a moment. It’s something we actively create together.

We’re incredibly grateful for the Western Australian Government’s continued support of ARTRAGE and Fringe World Festival.

This funding isn’t just about putting on a festival, it’s about supporting artists, arts workers, small businesses and communities right across WA. We are a not-for-profit registered charity with a mission to create spaces where creativity thrives and where artists and audiences connect.

In 2025, ARTRAGE generated over $56 million in direct impact and more than $166 million in total economic activity. That same year, $10.78 million in Fringe ticket sales delivered $8.34 million directly to artists and independent venues.

In 2026, we engaged nearly 500,000 people across 32 suburbs and regional WA, delivering free and affordable events for families and communities.

We’re proud of the role FRINGE WORLD plays in making WA vibrant, connected and creative, and we’ll continue to work hard to ensure this investment delivers for everyone.

We were proud to represent ARTRAGE at the 2025 Qantas Tourism Awards last week, with Fringe World Festival a finalist in the Major Festivals & Events category.

Held at the iconic Fremantle Prison, it was a lovely evening celebrating the people, destinations, and experiences that make Australia’s tourism industry so vibrant.

Congratulations to all the finalists and winners recognised on the night, and thank you to the organisers for such a memorable event in a truly unique setting.

We’re so proud to have partnered with Ruah at this year’s Fringe World Festival to deliver the sausage sizzle at The Pleasure Garden.

Nearly 2,000 sausages sold: with $1 from every snag going directly to Ruah Community Services. This is a great example of how small moments of connection can translate into tangible community impact.

Thank you to Ruah’s team for bringing such great energy onsite, and to every festival-goer who grabbed a bite and helped contribute to meaningful change across WA.

And that’s a wrap on FRINGE WORLD 2026 ✨

In just four weeks, there have been 600 shows featuring more than 3,000 local, interstate and international artists across Perth and wider WA.
FRINGE WORLD isn’t just one event; it’s thousands of acts of courage, risk, generosity, and creative determination.

To our artists, presenters, venue teams, producers and audiences: thank you! You are the reason Perth becomes louder, brighter and more playful each year. And we at ARTRAGE are so proud to be able to deliver this to the state.

We’ve got some wonderful news! 🎉 We’re excited to announce the recipients of the 2026 FRINGE WORLD x Inspiring Western Australia Science–Arts Grant!

✨ The Birds & The Bees - an inventive show that blends nature, science and storytelling (think bees, pollination and reimagined biology).

🌈 Hugo's Rainbow Show - a magical, musical journey exploring the science of the skies through rainbows, weather and whimsical storytelling. Perfect for kids between 2-10 and neurodivergent audiences.

A huge congratulations to both shows, we can’t wait to see these imaginative, science infused performances shared with audiences next year!

Thank you also to everyone who applied, we appreciate the creativity and effort that went into each application.

And a massive thank you to Inspiring Western Australia and Scitech for making this grant possible and championing the intersection of arts and science.
