- My first published book: SCUDLEY GUITAR COURSE -
Last year I officially retired from guitar teaching. After almost 30 years of education, teaching students of pretty much all ages - 6 years old through to 78 years old - and helping a number of them successfully audition and get into WAAPA, I feel so privileged to have been able to share my passion for learning music to others. But more importantly, I feel so fortunate to have learnt from each of my hundreds of students over the years.
So even though I am no longer teaching, I have been working on something for quite a while now that is a culmination of the decades I have taught music, and the things that stood out amongst my students that were most effective in helping them achieve the knowledge and techniques they developed for the guitar - and music theory in general.
I have created a series of books that are designed to help complete beginners teach themselves from day one, right through to a high level of musical understanding, both in guitar playing and music theory.
And although there is no substitute for a good music teacher, sometimes having access to someone to guide you through proper technique and structure is difficult. So this first book in the series is a tool that can help anyone who is interested in learning. I introduce you to the SCUDLEY GUITAR COURSE!

Oh, and I am planning something special with this series later in the year. Without giving much away, it involves my work as a film maker. Watch this space!
