South Coast Inclusion Network aka SCIN Inc advocates for LGBTIQ inclusive communities and services across Gippsland so that all sexuality's and gender identities are acknowledged and celebrated. started in March 2017 after the Equality Road Show headed by Victoria’s Commissioner for Gender and Sexuality - Ro Allan, came to Wonthaggi is Bass Coast Shire. PHN to develop a series of short films showcasing stories of local LGBTIQ people and promoting the visibility and inclusion of the LGBTIQ community within Gippsland’s rural and regional towns. On IDAHOBIT Day May 17th 2019 we held an interactive SCIN film launch at the iconic State Coal Mine in Wonthaggi to an audience of 60 key stakeholders and community members. SCIN Inc uses a storytelling approach to advocate for LGBTIQ inclusive practice within rural and regional towns. We use the content of the SCIN films to generate meaningful discussion about how inclusive attitudes and services increase the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQ people and decrease social isolation and suicide.
