We want to (re)discover the best there is to find when it comes to animation movies.
And we’re lucky we can do this in a small, cosy, authentic theatre: Filmhuis Klappei in Borgerhout! It’s not far from the central station.
We choose for very different kinds of movies. We like the ‘nostalgic classics’ that everyone knows, but it’s nice to see them again together. We like the alternative short films from beginning makers. We like the bizarre, so Jan Svankmajer and the Quay Brothers are also included. We combine digital with oldschool techniques and always search for a nice visual style.
Next month’s theme is ‘Scary scarier scariest’, with no horror films but still genuinely creepy stuff. First we have the short movie Peur(s) du noir from Lorenzo Mattotti (which is actually a part of an ensemble film with a couple of other nightmare-ish films, but we didn’t really like it as a whole).
